Conan Exiles Set for Early Access and Full Console Release! Get All the Latest Details Here!

by on February 12, 2016

Late last month, Funcom announced Conan Exiles, a new MMO game based on Robert E. Howard’s seminal pulp fantasy series, Conan the Barbarian. This week, Funcom released a new developer video diary for the upcoming game, the first in a video series of them. You can check out that video diary below, along with some new pre-alpha screenshots (via Gamespot). In addition, the video confirmed that the game will get an early access launch first this summer.

Unfortunately, the developers confirmed that you won’t be able to play as the titular Conan in the video game. It’s set in the world of Conan the Barbarian, but players take the role of an exiled barbarian who has been crucified and left to die in the desert. At the beginning of the game, Conan appears and frees the victim and saves the player’s life. As a result, the exile must fight and survive the brutal lands of Hyboria in hopes of building his/her own empire. In other words, you must “survive, build and dominate.”

The video features a look at the game’s concept art and some behind-the-scenes footage with the developers. It looks like a pretty ambitious project overall. However, it would be nice if there was some sort of way to play as Conan the Barbarian. The pre-alpha screenshots look pretty impressive. It makes one wonder just how vast and detailed Hyboria will look in the game.

Conan Exiles is set for an Early Access launch for Windows PC later this summer. Afterwards, It will receive a full launch on PC and consoles. The full launch details will reveal later on.
