GematsuĀ is reporting that Final Fantasy XV’s release date has finally been revealed. According to the report, the game will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and September 30. In addition, it looks like the release date will be officially announced by Square Enix during an event on March 30. In addition, September 30 is set to be the worldwide release date for the game.
There is a Final Fantasy Uncovered event set for Los Angeles, so that is likely where the game’s actual release date will be announced. The Gematsu report cited a several independent sources with “knowledge of the matter.”
Last month, Square Enix revealed a progress report video for the game. Game director Hajime Tabata andĀ global marketing director Akio Ofuji discussed the progress of the game and how close it is to completion.
Final Fantasy XV has been in development for quite some time. The game was originally announced as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which would be on the PlayStation 3. Eventually it became Final Fantasy XV after getting re-dubbed at E3 2013.
