ARK: Survival Evolved Gets New Features and an Extinction Event! Find Out More Here!
Studio Wildcard has officially announced some new additions to ARK: Survival Evolved on Steam. In addition, the studio also launched the official Extinction Event Servers. The new creatures include the furry Woolly Rhino, the deep-water Dunleosteus, and the chitin-rich Eurypterid. The Extinction Event servers that launched this month will reset after each month. There will be an in-game countdown and a dramatic meteor impact that will signal the end of the world. Participants will earn badges to mark their accomplishment.
The new Woolly Rhino is a large, friendly herbivore that can turn very dangerous against attackers. The creature builds up momentum as it charges and can also skewer larger creatures. The Woolly Rhino also has a large load capacity.
The Dunkleosteus is a large fish that is covered with armored plates and has powerful jaws. The creature works well as a battle fish that can defend its rider from large threats underwater. The Dunkleosteus can also be harvested for Chitin.
Finally, there is the Eurypterus, which are dangerous, adaptable Arthropods. These creatures are rich in chitin and have debilitating poison that can render its opponents unable to defend themselves. After dying, the Eurypterid has digestive tracts that also contain Silica Pearls or even rare Black Pearls that can be used to make mysterious technologies.
ARK: Survival Evolved is set to receive a full console launch on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 Windows PC via Steam later this year. The game is currently available through Game Preview on Xbox One and Steam’s Early Access program.
ARK: Survival Evolved will launch in 2016 on Xbox One via the ID@Xbox program, PlayStation®4 with Project Morpheus support, and full release on Steam PC. The game is currently playable in Microsoft’s Game Preview on Xbox One and Steam’s Early Access program, which includes Oculus Rift VR support.
