Will Monster Hunter World ever come to Switch? Would Capcom be up for that?
One of the few downsides to the Nintendo Switch was that because it was a secret for so long, and many companies didn’t know it was coming, or what to expect for it, certain games weren’t made for the Switch, even though they possibly could have been. One of the biggest games that did this was Monster Hunter World. To be fair, this was being developed years before the system was announced, so you can understand why it wasn’t made for him at first. However, once the game released, and Switch players wanted it ported over, Capcom basically said “no”.
But, there is a studio who would be up for making the port real. Iron Galaxy Studios. Here’s a tweet from their CEO.
Dear @monsterhunter team at Capcom – we understand that porting the game to Nintendo Switch is challenging (https://t.co/0JrAIQgcft) but this is exactly what @IToTheG does. Give us a shot & we won’t let you down

Lest you think this is wishful thinking, this was the team that ported Skyrim over to the Switch. And the results were good. So if they could do that for Skyrim, why not Monster Hunter World?
I mean these guys did an amazing job when they ported Skyrim over to Switch and they say they ready for the job, I say they should give Iron Galaxy Studios a shot.
Seems like they know what they are doing then and so by all means, that would be great. It makes me wonder what all the word offers entails here, but either way it is exciting.
While I have no idea how the Skyrim Switch port turned out, I do know that these guys (Iron Galaxy) did a piss poor job with certain ports in the past, including Mortal Kombat X and I believe one of the Batman games.
Capcom would be far better off just doing the port themselves. If nothing else, they would at least gain valuable experience in porting to this system.
There is no way in hell Capcom is doing the port themselves and that's why they need help. We all know they are going to drag this for months and at the end they are not going to do it.
Just cause you think they did a terrible job on those projects it doesn't mean this is to suck for you as well.
I think ? No I don't think. It's a fact that those ports were bad. And if it does suck, it won't suck for me cause I have no intention of buying Monster Hunter. It would, OTOH, suck for Capcom if the port they paid for was bad and sold poorly.
Is that the case? Then I guess it's good news then.
Well, it sound like a good move to make.
looks amazing
I wish they do it better on android instead. I mean many people would be into that game for sure.
