A major Square Enix staffer and artist for the Final Fantasy series has left the company that he worked at for over 20 years. Per GameInformer.com, longtime art director for the Final Fantasy franchise, Yusuke Naora, has announced his resignation from Square Enix. You can check out the tweets from Naora announcing his resignation that he posted on social media below.
September 30 marked Naora’s last official day at Square Enix. According to Naora, he worked there for 24 years. However, he did say that he plans to continue doing illustration and design work at Square Enix in the future. Speaking on Final Fantasy XV, he stated, “Yesterday, Taba-chan kindly showed me FFXV’s ending. It was my last work, and it became the greatest ending.” So, it seems Naora is not leaving on bad terms. He also added on his Twitter, “Everybody did fantastic! It was the finest work.”
Naora plans to work on a new project next. Final Fantasy XV is due out on November 29 after numerous delays and being pushed back. The game will be available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Fans have been waiting for the game for years, so hopefully it will be worth the extra long wait.
As of 30th September, I resigned Square Enix, the company I worked for 24 years.
