Check Out Overwatch’s New Hero Orisa!

Blizzard Entertainment has revealed its latest hero to join the Overwatch roster in Orisa. You can check out the Orisa reveal trailer and the new developer update from game director Jeff Kaplan, where he goes over Orisa, in the player below.

Orisa is a new Tank class hero. In the Overwatch lore, she was a OR15 robot rebuilt by the young and brilliant robotics inventor, Efi Oladele. Efi salvaged the parts of an old OR15 robot after an attack by Doomfist on the Numbani airport. Efi witnessed the attack first hand. She still believed the robot had potential, so she rebuilt it as Orisa. The relationship between Orisa and Efi is very reminiscent of Hiro and Baymax from Big Hero 6.

Well, Jeff Kaplan had previously stated that the next Overwatch hero would not be who fans expected, and he was dead on with that. A lot of fans probably really thought the new hero would be Doomfist based on all the built-in hints that have happened since 2014. Doomfist is even referenced in Orisa’s reveal video. He was the one who perpetrated the attack on the Numbani airport. Doomfist might still happen down the line, but not for a while longer.

Overwatch is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. Orisa is currently available for PC players in the game’s PTR. Blizzard has not yet announced when the character will be fully available to players. Additionally, you can check out Orisa’s full profile page to see her attacks and list of abilities.
