The Surge Requires Exploration to Win! Find Out Why You Can’t Rush Through the Game!

by on June 22, 2016

Don’t expect to be able to rush through and beat Deck13’s The Surge without some amount of explanation. Polygon reports that CEO Jan Klose revealed that players who want to finish the game will have to spend some time exploring the world of the game.

Jan Klose stated, “This game is a lot about exploration. If you don’t explore, you cannot complete this game.” Klose added: “It’s a rather cruel way of gathering equipment in this game, but this is really a general part of how you play. You find out what’s in the game world, and you take what’s in the game world. There’s not always a straight way in this game. If you just go the straight path, you’ll not be strong enough to defeat the bosses. You’ll not really manage to play the game. You’ll need to look around. You need to find secrets. You need to find out what’s going on.”

In The Surge, gamers will face robotic enemies and have to salvage their parts. Salvaging the parts or scraps help the players improve their overall skill level and items. Despite the exploration that’s required to progress, players can avoid fighting every enemy they meet. Some enemies can be avoided by sneaking past them. Each enemy uses different tactics, and players will have to pick their own strategy in taking them out.

The Surge is due out later in 2017. The game is due out in PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
