To be fair, I would be more annoyed if someone was yelling in his microphone or spamming chat and cursing everyone, compared to just dying now and then. It really ruins the fun for everyone, since people wouldn't be able to concentrate, and the game wouldn't be any more enjoyable if you have one teammate that keeps on flaming. If there's just a feeder, you can still win it with skill and teamwork, but with the flamer mouthing off everyone, it just drains the life out of the game.

You can still beat a feeder, where everyone loses when someone is just spamming or being belligerent in the chat. I'd imagine they would need to hire a ton more people to start reviewing and monitoring game play.

I think it is possible to detect and your suggestions are very good but ultimately it would still be seen as wrong on their part if they punish someone who was just a noob thinking that they were being feeders. That's just my take on it at least, playing devil's advocate for riot. I'm guessing it is the same way the justice system always says that they would rather let 10 guilty criminals free rather than imprison 1 innocent victim for being too strict, and when it comes to chat the evidence is much more clear cut.

Because toxic chat is something sponsors and parents of kids can easily see. It's definitely a factor in driving money away from the game.

I guess it's just easier to tell when someone is being 'toxic' than framing someone for intentionally feeding. A person could be really bad and be reported for intentionally griefing, the same could be done by a person who's actually trying to feed and just claim they aren't, who's to say either is or isn't guilty of intentionally feeding?

I just wish they would take some actions and disable ranked play for some of those accounts, so that people will pick up the forced habit of trying to win without giving others so much stress playing a game.

Speaking of toxic chat, Tyler1 just got banned by Riot for "in-game comments extremely inflammatory and offensive." This dude would intentional feed in the game and combined with trolling comments, he ended up getting banned. I guess they do include feeding when they decide whether to ban you or not.

That is a really good point that I overlooked. Feeding just sort of becomes part of the game, where toxic chat really isn't part of the game in any way. It definitely can drive away parents from letting their kids play the game.

Simply because toxic chat is easier to spot by searching keywords in a match's chat log. However, intentionally feeding may not be as easy to spot, because some people, unlike those who go straight for 6 Zeals, may be hard feeding totally unintentionally (I lost some URF games as 0/9/0 and I wasn't feeding intentionally, simply just outplayed and outranged). People have bad games when they feed A LOT, and better games when others feed. The point is not to judge feeding as intentional in the instant you see it happening. Use your brain and process if that dude feeding is actually doing it intentionally or just losing really hard.

Great point. I think this would probably be the main reason why they do it this way, now that you've mentioned it. At the end of the day it's their profits that they would probably be most worried about and while feeding might put a dent on their earnings I don't think it would equal what they will lose if parents start picking up on what their kids are seeing in chat.
