Accidentally deleted your saved game

Have you ever experienced playing an RPG and you have reached the midpoint of the game... Then somehow, for some unknown reason, your saved game gets deleted. Have you ever experienced such a thing? I have. A couple of times on the PS1. It happened to me with FF7 and Chrono Cross. Well what I did was not touch the games for months because I was extremely disappointed. All my hard work to level up, gather items, learn new techniques, all went down the drain.

I hope that this does not happen to me any more. It just sucks.

I never had that happen to me I have had corrupted data ones, but that was it now I make sure to backup my saves just in case.

It also happened to me with FF7. I had finished Disc 1 and saved my game. Then I do not know what happened, but the memory card just died. I was so sad as I had to start again.

The only save problem I had was my save just disappeared from my memory card. The memory card was faulty so instead of saving, my file just disappeared. I was in the middle of FF7 when that happened. I didn't start over until a much later date.

Never happened to me. But it must be horrible, maybe you should back-up your saved games if this is a regular occurance?

Can you even backup games on a console without a gameshark I have not owned a console since the PS2 and back then you needed a gameshark to do that.

Oh god. That would make me cry if that happened. I remember when I reinstalled windows and I forgot to backup my Fallout: New Vegas Saves.. I was not happy..

This hasn't happened to me with any RPG. There was a time where I had installed a game and updated my PC. When I went to play the game I found that it was overwritten and corrupted from the system update.

I have only had one corrupted file once I think it was a Gtand Turismo 4 I could never delete that file of my PS2 memory card.

I have, thankfully, not ever killed my saves in any game.

Same for me. I never lost my saved game files but sometimes (pretty rare, though) they were corrupted. No biggie, I make backups any way, a corrupted file won't stop me :D

I played a lot of the pokemon games growing up so I'm definitely NOT a stranger to that experience. The main reason it sucked was because I would always play along with my brother and then one of us would end up so far ahead of the other.

Thankfully I've never had this occur on any games other then Pokemon (which pissed me off)

Thankfully it never happened to me. Though I still can't forget the time when I was about to finish a certain stage on Tenchu that I had to repeat 3 times, and when it was about to move on to the cut scene, the power went out due to the power interruption in our area. I was so pissed as I am not sure if I can finish it again as I feel I just got lucky with that stage, and I have to do it all over again.

I did this in Pokemon one time. Finished up the quests after the Elite 4 and started a new game just for fun with a new starter. I didn't mean to save but I did by accident and I haven't picked up that game since. I believe it was Pokemon Ruby.

I've actually done this multiple times. It's pretty frustrating. The most frustrating is when you've gotten pretty close to the end of the game and then you delete the file. Yes, I have done that before. At that point I just said forget it and didn't play the game for a long time.

It's never happened to me before. I always have multiple saves for a game and I always keep them backed up. It would be devastating to put so many hours into an RPG and then lose it all.

Oh my god. I just defeated emerald weapon, and forgot to save my game. ran around on some random island and got pwned. It sucked because the only reason I happen to kill Emerald Weapon, was Cait Sith's limit breaker that causes the instant death of anything or whatever. Took me forever after that to actually kill him.

If I had 100+ hours in an RPG game I don't think I would start over I would probably be so pissed that I would probably throw the game out the window.
