I don't know if anyone has made a shark mod for Minecraft yet, but how awesome would that be?! I was thinking along the lines of the way GrandTheftAuto games have sharks in their waters. Even better, imagine how crazy it would be if there was a rare megalodon who could be found guarding an ocean fortress, the same way the ender dragon guards the nether? There could be a way to create scuba gear with rare parts that could only be found by, say, killing the ender dragon. What do you guys think of this idea? I think it would be absolutely crazy; in an awesome way!

Agreed, not only sharks but more aquatic mobs in general! Think about a giant kraken guarding the ocean fortress, with the sharks being it's minions!

Whales and dolphins would be super cool tpp, imagine a giant whale, like 15 blocks length, diving near your underwater house!

I wouldn't like sharks implemented. Water is currently the safest place to be when night falls, since there are no aquatic mobs that can attack you. Adding sharks would completely change that. You would have nowhere to hide!

I think that's sort of the point. Maybe along with sharks they would add a new difficulty, it could be called "extreme survival" or something to that effect and it would contain all the toughest mobs and no safe havens. It could actually be pretty epic, I'd definitely give it a shot.

Ehhh, I'm indifferent to the idea. I don't know if I necessarily want aquatic mob... but definitely more aquatic animals. I love making glass rooms underwater, so having more to look at whilst in one would be awesome.

The idea of a giant aquatic boss sounds pretty nifty though, I guess. It would definitely be an idea for future DLC.

This would be a great idea. Since the waters have no real threats, that'd be really cool to be honest.
Maybe even water bosses? How kick-ass would it be if you could fight sea monsters, like leviathans or a KRAKEN?
Sorry, maybe I'm getting a little carried away, but I still think it'd be really cool to be sailing around in the ocean and suddenly a god damn kraken overtakes your ship and you have to kill it.
    Would be cool.

I agree. I think sharks would be neat but since water is a really safe place that people like I think sharks should be optional, like a separate difficulty.

Oh I would like that. Have the jaws theme or something similar duh duh duuuuhhhh duhhhhhh. At least that way you would have a little warning to get out of the water quick as you can.

Sharks should be added only in an update that expands the oceans, adds things to explore in them and other things. An ocean update that also adds sharks would make Minecraft so much more fun, you got spend ages just exploring the entire ocean, having a boat load of fun. (hehehheh)

That's perfect! To make the waters a bit harder! They're too safe. Adding another boss for underwater would be awesome! You would need tons of waterbreathing and nightvision potions though, but that adds to the fun and difficulty.

I feel like there should be a hostile mob for each environment, and the only one that is missing one... is the water (and to a degree, the daylight, but there can still be creepers and such)

It's not the worst idea to add some kind of hostile sea mob

Well, there is a new hostile mob in water! There is actually two kinds, the Guardians and the Elder Guardians roaming the halls of ocean monuments. I'm not sure if they can spawn outside the monument though, but they definitely deal damage!

Not only sharks, but definitely more water mobs. In higher difficulty, the waters can get a little boring at times. Having more water mobs will make the game a lot more fun.

I'm not a fan of the shark idea. It's a good idea for a mod, sure, but I would never want to see sharks implemented into the actual game. Like another user said, the water is the safest place when it comes to hiding from attacking mobs. If you add an attacking mob to the water, then you've got nowhere to go to take a breather or escape.

YES! It would definitely be a challenge as the water is usually a safe place to be. Maybe a couple of huge sharks to add that frantic element

If I were to design a water mob I would go a step further and add shark creepers just for the hell of it, seeing as the only water mob, if you can even call it that, is the zombies in the water, they can survive the daylight if they stay in it and it's pretty rare so a water mob is almost a necessity at this point for people that are bored of the game and have killed all the other ones.

Mo's Creatures already adds sharks and a lot of mobs. However, I do believe adding sharks and many other mobs to vanilla Minecraft would be a great addition. I think Shark creepers is a bad idea because it just doesn't fit it imo.

That's a fair point, I didn't really think shark creepers through. But what about some sort of water creeper in general? Or water mines, ball and chains to avoid?

Arrgh, I would hate having to deal with creepers in water. :/ So perhaps it would make for a great addition to the game! :)
