    I dont really know how long this thread might last but hey why not, According to Doctors without borders or "MSF" what could be the largest and most deadly outbreak of the ebola virus could be happening right now in Guinea with over 120 cases with up to seventy deaths,

    According to MSF the virus has also spread to Sierra leone, Liberia, Gueckedou, Macenta, Kissidougou, and Nzerekore. All having either suspected or confirmed cases of Ebola

    What is ebola?

    To put it bluntly Ebola is the most deadly virus know to man where it comes from is still unknown, symptoms include Respitory issue, and a near melting of the insides to the point of final stage victims bleeding heavily from the ears eyes and nose,

    It gets worse for treatment for there is none, there is no vaccine no cure and it is reported that most doctors "mercy kill" the victims in the later stages, It also has a mortality rate of 90-95% in victims

    Upon death your body is either

    A= Put in a led lined coffin (rare)
    B= Cremated

    The only real hope for these contrys is that those infected die faster than they can spread it killing it off through all inflicted being dead

    Some people have a different definition of fun than others, it would appear.

    This sounds like from the movie outbreak, but actually happening. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outbreak_(film)

    Edit: this can be an April Fools' joke, therefore explaining why this was posted in the pointless fun thread.

    Double-edit: But not for the reason if this was true would have Jabba posted this here since this isn't a laughing matter. I think it was either by mistake or if not, purposely put here just in case the news sources did this as an early April Fools' joke and, not being sure of it, put in the pointless fun thread just in case it was a hoax. IDK.

    Maybe the General Chat? But then this isn't something that really wouldn't be considered general news to talk over some crumpets and a cup of hot tea, so I see your point....Congratulations then, you passed the test. What test? Well the test that every member automatically qualifies for once they sign up. You found the one thing that defies the whole layout of the forum that requires its own sub-forum. My agent will be contacting you shortly. :spy:

    This is bad news, though. If by any chance someone containing the virus crosses a border to an even more populated city/town or boards an airplane to another country undetected, the entire world can be at risk of getting Ebola -as we can see, it has already spread quickly among the people of Guinea. I'm just hoping that whoever is working with and near the virus takes every precaution from catching it, as I can only imagine how painful it might be to, and that they manage to contain it as well. From what I understand, they are successful of doing so; but as always, there's always a chance of making a mistake.

    After doing a bit of background research, I found that the last major outbreak of Ebola occurred during 2000-2001 in Uganda. 425 reported cases of people with Ebola -Sudan Ebola virus or SEBOV- back then, and out of those 425, 224 were reported dead because of it (53% fatality rate). The strain of the Ebola virus that is going on right now is the Zaire virus (ZEBOV) and it's know to have the highest fatality rate. According to sources, the fatality rate can reach 90%.
