Okay, I hope this isn't too much of a novice's question but I am loving this game and I'd like to know the answer just in case because I'm seriously thinking about getting the game once I reach the level 20 cap for the trial. After the trial ends, and I buy the game, will I be able to keep and continue leveling that character or will I have to start the game all over again completely from scratch with a new character?

Yes, if you choose to upgrade your Starter Edition account, you will be able to play with all characters from the Starter Edition and you can level them up without any restriction (well, except WoD stuff, if you don't own that). Keep in mind that after your game time runs out, you will not be able to play those characters again on the Starter Edition, so you will need to start a new Starter Edition license.

Thank you. I'm seriously considering getting the upgraded account soon because now they have other ways to pay and a friend offered to possibly pay for it for me as a holiday present. I was just very worried that I would have to start all over again. I'd rather just upgrade and continue using my starter edition character. I tend to get attached to my first characters in games like this.

Don't need to worry. They will not wipe out your character once the trial period is over. If you want, you can always upgrade and start from where you left off. Isn't it great?

That is great except I just realized that they make you pay a $15 dollar a month subscription. A friend offered to invite me for the 90's day free thing too but he also said I would have to start completely over. I'm not too worried about just paying the subscription for this game, but I'm not sure so far with what the trial offers that it's worth that much a month now. It would be nice if you could just pay a one time fee for the upgrade. However, I know good marketing when I see it and I can't exactly say that I don't understand why it's this way.

WoW is worth the price. It's not a whole lot of money, especially if it's one of the main games that you choose to play each day.

So you are saying that you didn't know that it had monthly subscription? Well, now you know for sure. It's worth it though. You are goi9ng to love the experience.

You can imagine my embarrassment when I realized it was something I probably should've already known. I plan on getting the subscription when I get back from my trip to North Carolina for Thanksgiving. I suppose I could also consider this my second 'oops' moment.
