I've always been a fan of Stephen King, and Alan Wake was an incredible game. Now, with this spin-off, it's come back to life, and it's great! I think it's almost redefined Xbox Live Arcade, especially with the live-action cutscenes. Why can't other games have this awesome feature?

So, anyone else here played it?

The Command and Conquer has it, as well as some of the Need for Speed games.

Ah, actually, yeah, I remember the N4S one. Well, okay, I guess some games have it, but more games should have it! :p Or at least some really nice graphics for the cutscenes.

Yeah, the Arcade mode of American Nightmare is pretty good. Lots of replayability.

Alan Wake isn't a good game... it's a brilliant game! It's very story-driven, so I can't exactly tell you too much about it otherwise it'll be spoiled. But it's a shooter-horror where the main character (Alan Wake) is searching for clues to his wife's disappearance. He's also more than a little worried about the zombie-like enemies which keep trying to kill him.

The gameplay is basically: burn the darkness off the enemies with your torch, and then shoot them with a variety of guns. There's also a dodge button which lets you survive in close quarters. Flare guns and flares are also found here and there for extreme cases. :)

    Good game, definitely recommend it!

Yeah, this game is fine for renting. There's only campaign, no multiplayer, and not too much replay ability (arcade mode only came with Alan Wake's American Nightmare). Enjoy! Oh yeah, the dlc is kinda good, if you're willing to shell out a couple of Microsoft Points.

With High and FXAA according to a beta test chart,

Max Payne 3 will run at 33fps AVG on a 550Ti
