Another reason why EA sucks

I used to play Battlefield 3 mostly with strangers, because very few of my friends owned the game. A number of them got it during the time when it was free. Except for Origin's usual bullshit and server errors every now and then, I generally didn't run into that many problems when playing the game on my own. However, whenever I try to play it with a bunch of friends (even when it's only other person), we tend to encounter a ton of issues.

Why is there no option to join servers as a group? Why can't you and your friends remain on the same team when the map switches? Why do some servers appear for me but don't for my friends (meaning that we have to send each other the address directly)? Why can't I and a friend of mine ever see each other online, even when we are both active (the only way we can see our messages is by having another person start a group chat between the three of us)? Why can't people using the same IP address play together on the same server (aren't all the key codes, Origin and all that DRM enough)?

This is a real shame; Dice has made a pretty cool game, I've put plenty of hours into BF3's multiplayer, but why does EA have to screw it all up with the layer of feces it loves to regurgitate around every one of the games it publishes? BF3 is practically unplayable for me if I want to play it seamlessly with friends or family. I didn't get the game for free - I paid 100 złotych about a year ago for the complete edition, yet for shit like this I deserve a refund. People who got the game for free and run into all of this should get paid for even trying.

I really wish all of EA's employees could be moved to other companies, whilst its directors given to the crowds of angry gamers.

Dunno about their employees getting moved. One of my friends had an issue *well two friends really* with crysis 2 game keys. No matter what, Origin was NOT accepting them, so they called support. Lady on the phone accused em of being pirates and hung up.

    Typical. :eek:hwell:

  4. I don't mind that, I don't like playing with others anyway. If anyone wants to join, they just use the battlelog to connect to the same server and end up in the same squad.

Usually I play on the same servers and the same people show up around the same time every day, so it doesn't matter.

Usually I'd say the same, but it really depends on the game. With BF3, people kept telling me that it's much better when you're playing in a squad of people you know and preferably can talk with them using voice chat. Unfortunately, I haven't really been able to experience this due to those thick levels of fecal matter EA left on top of the game. Otherwise, I like the sheer gameplay and graphics. Still, it's a bit depressing when you look at how things have progressed over time; in the early 2000s, multiplayer in most PC shooters was fairly easy to set up and there wasn't much hassle... now not so much, especially if we're talking about Electronic Farts.

I mostly played BF3 on 360. And I've gotta say, once you get past the lower player counts and overall worse rendering performance due to limited hardware, I found it to be a much better port. You could join games as a squad, it had dedicated servers on day one, and it overall ran like a charm, can't remember ever getting any stutters or frame drops. Great netcode, too. I have a lot of great memories playing with friends on that game.

Probably why BF4 was so disappointing, especially since I largely built myself a real rig so that I could get the "superior experience" everyone was talking about.

FX 6300 (currently mild overclock to 4.3 GHz), 2x 660 TI SLI, 2x4GB 1600 MHz RAM. 2 TB SSHD. Motherboard, PSU, etc. not important.
