Many say that a MMORPG that's F2P isn't worth playing. But then, there are a lot of games that were once P2P but eventually switched to the free model.

Are you playing any F2P MMORPG right now? Can you recommend one that's not pay to win, with a huge player base, and a gameplay that's not generic?

You got a lot of choices for good free to play MMORPGs. I hear Tera Rising is really good. Lord of The Rings Online as well as Starwars: The Old Republic are free to play now, or you could try Age of Wushu or Ragnarok Online if you want.

I'd give Star Wars The old Republic a try if you haven't already. I really enjoyed it back when I payed full price to play it, now that it's free that is no reason not to give it a shot.

I actually enjoyed AION when it came to free to play, haven't given Star Wars The old Republic a shot but my friends enjoyed it for a while before they got bored with it. Neverwinter is ok especially with players made dungeon and skirmish ,the only problem I have is it takes too long for them to give you a new dungeon to venture on.

Three are so may F2P MMORPGs that are worth your time. Take a game like Planetside 2 for an example. It's a perfect example of how a F2P game should be made. If you are into MMOFPS games, I will recommend you Planetside 2 for sure. It's one of the best games out there. You can try Blacklight Retribution as well.

I would recommend Cabal Online or either Star Wars old republic you don't have to be a huge SW fan to enjoy the game, but I recommend watching some YouTube gameplay videos that way you can see what the game is like before you download.

Runescape is one you could try but its not highly recommend can get extremely repetitive after a while and over updated in some ways looking at the RS3 update.

Seems like many people are recommending Star Wars Old Republic. I've heard some good reviews about it before, but haven't tried it out because I'm not really a Star Wars fan. But I'll check out some videos and see if the gameplay interests me. Thanks to all of you for your suggestions!

LoL? that is probably the best MMO at the moment with millions of players, Star Wars is ok but not as good as LoL especially when you start earning lots of IP.

Thank you for starting this thread, calebmerven, I had the same questions myself. It looks like most of the members agree that SW:ToR is the best free-to-play MMORPG, I will definitely give it a try as soon as possible.

Ruescape is not a F2P game. It's more of a free to try game in my humble opinion. You have to pay to progress.

No problem! I'll check out SWToR too this coming weekend. I also did a quick searches on other sites and found that many people recommend Tera. Everybody says that the graphics are really great and the gameplay isn't as generic as most F2P MMORPGs. I'm just hoping my computer could handle this game smoothly.

If you like anime characters, maybe try S4 League. It has a huge fan base and so many different severs depending on where you live and what language you speak. It's not like any other RPG I have played because it's more like an Xbox game - if you have ever heard of Time Splitters I think it's like that. You have loads of different maps and mini games (like capture the flag with a ball, death match, chaser etc.) and I am actually enjoying it more than the generic RPG! It does have missions, but no quests or anything like that, it literally is mainly just for playing against and with other players although you can also solo.

Yeah I have heard of this game before, but haven't gotten the chance to play it yet. I wish that I play this game sometime. I just don't have the time to play it. I still have a lot of unfinished games waiting for me.

I just found out about this new Action RPG called Path of Exile. It's been the talk of the gaming community for some months now. I searched for some screenshots and videos and the game looks pretty nice. It's in open beta right now so I'm going to check it out!

You are just like me then, I start so many games but I never finish them because there is too much grinding and the lvl cap is too high. But I would really recommend you try that game because there are no levels or 'unfinished' work to do, and the fan base is absolutely massive. Trust me you will love it! If you do join tell me and we can play together :)

Well, let me install it then. Once it done, I will send you a PM. We could play it together then.

Good game but LoL isn't a MMORPG. I would recommend Star Wars as when I played the beta it was alright and I could imagine PVP being pretty fun.

They are going to issue a PVP update in coming days. I wonder if it's too late. Let's see what happens.

Although the F2p version of RuneScape is not what you would call a full version. It still has years of content crammed into it. I personally know people who have played the game without ever paying a penny for years.

Oh and they recently made an update which enables players to buy membership using the in game coins. So you don't even need to pay anymore to become a member.
