Any good mods to try out?

Hexxit is the best Mod i have ever used. I recommend it

 

I'm also using FTB and I wouldn't know why you would like to use other mods haha! You could search on the minecraftforums for some nice single mods, or you could also try out these modpacks: Tekkit, Hexxit, The Big Dig - these are my favorites (with FTB).

 

Recently i have fallen out of actually playing minecraft but i watch youtube religiously and my favorite modded minecraft is Mindcrack FTB and Attack of the B-Team. Both mods are similar but have a few differences that set them apart. I suggest Attack of the B-Team since it is the only one of the two that is released as of yet. But within that mod, Tinkers Construct looks the most fun.

 

I recommend using Technic modpacks or FTB. I really enjoy the mods in them. Both have unique modpacks. I like Technic better. It has a nicer launcher.

 

If you like Pokemon the Pixelmon mod is a blast. It completely restructures the game into collecting and training pokemon, and battling gym leaders and other players. An amazing amount of work has gone into it. It is pretty cool seeing pokemon walking around the familiar forests and plains of Minecraft.

 

Try out tekkit. That mod adds so much to the game. It comes highly recommended by the Minecraft community. Hope you try it out.

 

I remember a mod I use to play with. It was the Portal mod. If you like portals and exploding lemons, then its a mod for you.

 

I recommend the Technic Pack to all of you. It is more immerse, adds new technologies and makes the game more challenging, forcing you to think more and build in a intelligent way.

 

My favorite mod is Tekkit, you just have so much stuff to do that it's almost overwhelming.

 

It seems that a lot of people are using Tekkit, which means that it is the best mod out there.

 

Explosives Plus is a really fun mod. I like being able to have a little bit more control out of my explosions, and basically I just really enjoy blowing stuff up.

 

My favorite is the ComputerCraft mod, which puts a programamble computer and turtle into the game. You can use the semi-custom programming language to control the turtle and dig or build with it, just lke the Comenius Logo program which is often used in schools to teach programming basics.

 

The best mod I have used so far when playing with friends was the "MMORPG" mod where you can actually level skills like "Digging" And "Mining" Course this one is only really good if you are on a private server playing with you buddies.

 

Personally, FTB is my favorite. After automating all the less fun process like refining your materials and gathering them, you have more time and resources to do the things that you started playing to do in the first place. I feel that FTB just lets you have a lot more fun with the game!

 

Have you tried those mods which add those extra biomes into the game? They're called ExtrabiomsesXL and Better Bomes or something like that. A google search should help you. They look absolutely amazing.

 

Rei's minimap is an essential mod in my opinion. I can't tell you how many times it has saved me. Sometimes you pour hours and hours into a map only to forget where you placed something. This mod allows you to easily find and keep track of where all your structures are located.

 

When is it recommended to have mods? Don't say "Always". I've tried a couple of times to install minecraft mods, but never went through with it because of the shitty way to install them. Do they really improve gameplay that much?

 

Rei's Minimap is one of the best utility mods on Minecraft. It shows you where you're going and prevents you from getting lost. Not only that, but it also shows you mobs and animals around you which could save your life one day. It's also really good for exploring because there's a map mode where it shows nearby caves and how deep you have to dig to get there.
