Any idea about Micro-Transactions?

I heard recently that Ryse will have micro-transactions, for those who don't know what that is, it's basically small things you can buy in the game with real money. They've been doing it for quite a while now and I heard they're going to do it a lot for Ryse. Any truth to this? I could of swore I read it somewhere.

I tend to avoid micro transactions in games. If I've paid money for the game, I don't like putting any more money into it. Most micro transactions are pretty bad, and are usually just items that give you a small boost or is something that can be unlocked by playing the game for a while.

I think every future game will have micro-transactions. It's a way of earning more money, the developers and publishers love it. It can add to the game in a lot of ways, new clothing/armor for your character, new weapons, etc. I'm not sure if Ryse will have microtransactions, but it could very well be possible. I think a lot of games will run on this in the future, and I bet they'll earn a lot of money doing it.

I agree with the above poster.. Yes all games will eventually have micro transactions. Think about it, from the developers stand point they want to make the most amount of money they can form these games. And lets say they have a DLC pack for 20 bucks.. some people might feel that's to much and just ignore it never getting it... But if they were to put out a ton of separate DLC all priced super cheap say a dollar per item... You as the consumer would feel more comfortable to purchase a few things that cheap.. now here's where the psychology of it all comes into play.. when you make tiny purchases like that, the rational part of your brain is telling you your barely spending anything so its ok.. and unless we see a total in front of us most people will forget how much they spend over time.. and a dollar here and a dollar there.. next thing you know.. you've spent a lot more then 20 dollars without even realizing it. Micro-transactions are just the developers "baiting" you in to spending/buying a lot more content then you initially wanted to buy/spend... Money, baby... it's all about the Benjamin's...

That's exactly the problem I have with it. No matter how you look at it or say "oh well why did you buy it then", putting microtransactions in your game is just a scummy thing to begin with. I have no problem with developers/publishers earning money, as long as they do it in a fair way. Things like mandatory Day 1 DLC are just unnatural, and nothing more than the devs trying to SELL you a piece of the game which you have already bought.

If it's a F2P MMO or something, fine whatever, but I seriously don't want 99 cent clothing popups and purchasable experience in the game I already paid sixty bucks for. Just my opinion I guess.
