Anyone checking out The Repopulation?

    I haven't bought it myself, but I was looking at it over on Steam and it looks pretty ambitious! It claims to be a mix of Star Wars Galaxies and Ultima Online. It seems to have a ton of cool features, like player-built nations/cities, the ability to completely ignore combat if you're into that and just focus on crafting or diplomacy, and other sandbox-driven mechanics.

    Of course, it's still in Early Access so it's probably buggy and not completely finished, but has anyone checked this game out? It has peaked my interest and I really want to try it, but I'm a little nervous to shell out the $20 bucks. Steam seems to have the majority of positive reviews, but who knows? I do like the flavor of the game as I've seen it in gameplay videos, but something about it seems a little dull.

    Any thoughts?

    I haven't heard of the game before but I just went to check it out on steam and it looks pretty fun. I usually skip Early Access games so I will probably wait for it to get fully released.

    It is a very ambitious game and they have come a long way.. but I think dealing with Hero Engine is going to be the death of the game. Hero Engine has basically stopped being developed 3 years ago, so getting anything done in it is difficult. The game itself seems great, as you said a mix of UO and SWG in a different setting.

    It says nothing to me. For this type of game, in my opinion, one big requirements is to have a stunning and outstanding graphics so you can fully enojoy the game but from the trailer it deosn't seems so. I don't know if I'll purchase it, I think I'll have a look deeper into it.
