Anyone play RuneScape?

I played it back in 2007 on my friend's house. It was really addicting. I still remember going to my friend's house and fighting over who is going to play this game. One of the most addictive MMORPGs to this date, hands down.

 

I played it back in 2004 all the way until 2012. I can recall sleepless nights cutting down willow trees. I have probably spent over $700 on the monthly membership and countless hours. It was a great game despite the pitiful graphics. I heard they greatly improved it with the HTML5 beta.

 

I think everyone on this forum has at least dipped there toes in Runescape. Its probably the most popular free to play, and even has more appeal since it was browser based. The horrific graphics were what turned me away from it.

 

I played it briefly in 2005/2006 because a friend recommended it to me. It was fun for a bit, especially since I had never played an MMO before and didn't really know anything about them. Honestly, it was a bit easy for me - mostly because my friend gave me great armor and tons of money off the bat and I didn't have to work for anything - but it was nice since I didn't have to pay or download any extra software to play it.

Like Eltharion said, the graphics ultimately turned me off. They're just way too primitive, especially considering the graphics of other games at the time.

 

I've been hearing a lot about it for the past couple of years so I started playing about a week, its pretty cool, not the best graphics. I'm still getting a feel for the game, I play maybe 1 - 2 hours a day, not the best game I ever played though.

Not anymore, I did though(if you want to add me, i'm Howlaround, just incase I decide to play again one day). I played from about 2006-2008, then I quit due to being too busy. Then came back to my account earlier this year, payed to play for about 2 or 3 months, leveled up a few stats. Then they changed the layout and made it quite confusing for old-time players! So i've left until I have time again to play seeing as i'll be going to uni soon anyway.

 

I tried RuneScape a long time ago, but I didn't like it much I didn't like all the grinding you had to do to actually get anywhere and I felt it was just a waste of time to actually invest more time into the game so I uninstalled the game.

 

I started playing RS when I was 12 and I played it for 6 years. I loved the game and I literally spend every single moment on it! Sadly though with all the updates I felt they ruined the game too much and it took away all the nostalgia for me; when they moved Clan Wars to the Gamers Grotto that was the last straw for me haha. The last I played was early January this year, and I got a 99 finally! And I guess that (sadly) marks the end of Runescape for me.

 

Played runescape ever since 2006 and loved it back then. Even with the new changes today, it felt quite refreshing and different, but in the end all games get boring and repetitive. I have stopped playing runescape around last year, and only go back on from time to time to do holiday events. The game just isn't nice enough for non-members to enjoy anymore.

 

Yeah used to play back in the day, as many have said here though before I'm as well not a huge fan of all the updates. The emergence of botting and I don't mean a few people that you had before but literally 90% of the players has just destroyed it for me - f2p EoC and the 07scape. As much as I'd like to relive the glory days the nostalgia for me is long gone too.

 

I used to.. I know some people who still do. I just can't get into it anymore. It's still a semi-decent game.

 

I used to play a lot, but not anymore. I had lots of fun to be honest, but after a couple of months it just became boring.
I do know that RuneScape is quite different now, maybe I'll give it a go.
