Anyone played Metin2

I played Metin2 for a period of time until 2011-2012. It was a cool game but it's subpar with the current MMORPGs right now. The game is just a tool to get money from people that still play it and they don't implement anything new and relevant.

 

I used to love Metin2. Actually, that was the game that got me into MMORPGs. I liked the simple mechanics, even though some characters were obviously OP and never really got tweaks. It has an unusual quest system where you almost absolutely rely on grinding to level up since like level 10. I liked the concept of Metin Stones and would like to see it implemented in an actual 'good' MMO, also the enchancement system was very easy to understand and I found the overall game's simplicity really appealing.

 

Metin2 made for some decent fun during its initial release, but the game didn't really impress long after that.

 

It was a huge hit here in Romania. Given that most people in the early 2000s had slow computers, that was all that people would play around here. I gave it a shot three times, and I quit at level 0 every single time. It felt so boring that I think that I enjoyed the loading screens more than the game itself.

I also found it really idiotic how quests required you to only kill a very specific kind of wolves in the starting area, which meant that everyone hunted the same wolves. Therefore, you had to camp the area for one single mob.

Also, the shop system is completely idiotic too. Why do you need to transform into a shop when you want to sell items?

 

Lol, this game... I made a thread about it and that motivated me to redownload it, but ever since I started playing in 2009 (I think?) and the last time in May 2015... damn, no additions at all. Only a few new items but the game kept its obsolete appearance through the years. I wonder how profitable this game is, haha.

 

I've heard of this game but never had a chance to play it. I've watched a video in youtube a long time ago and it looks fun. I'll probably get on this game one of these days.

 

This is an example of a game with no developers. I don´t think they had any actual game development for like 5 years, just make a little money from their current players.

 

I also can't get how people can play that game anymore. I mean, just to make sure, yesterday I redownloaded it, and really nothing has changed, not even the HUD!!! I wonder how they manage to make money out of that game. Really bad place of investing your money if all you're going to receive is the same thing always.
