I played Guild Wars for around 8 years. I was in a pretty active guild for a while but when Guild Wars 2 came out everyone stopped playing. I know a few people who were disappointed with the sequel and returned but for the most part the game has become a barren wasteland. I would love to play some more if I could get together a few players but wandering around the game looking for people is quite depressing when I think about how it used to be. Just reply if you're interested in playing and if we can get a decent party going we should give it a try.

You sound like my story. I'm not even lying. I played since beta. I was working on the God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals title track when I quit. I think I got to "Kind of a Big Deal (2)" and was almost to (3). I could try it and pester NCSOFT for my account details *apparently while I was away I was hacked by Chinese Gold Sellers - 30k OK 30k OK LOL* but it was not a joking matter. It sucked getting it back. I wonder if it's still active. I was also huge into Guildwarsguru, making many a stickied topic there in my time and helping people find the game. This really is a gem. Jeremy Soule's music is otherworldly, and the pacing was exactly what an mmo should have been. Alas they didn't update as they needed to frequently enough with content. Only downside. My name was Shimus Darkraven.

I'm working on restoring my desktop. I think we've met on other forums before, and I think we may even work for the same person. Ironic how souls like us thrown to the wayside meet up later down the road. If I can run the original on this laptop I'm on I'll give it a shot. I miss playing online games a lot.

I love GW1, but I haven't played in quite some time. I mostly prefer GW2, but the original got a lot of things right, and it's hard to deny that.
