Are there more cheaters than legit players in Minecraft now?

when iam watching YouTube LP's and videos I ALWAYS see people cheat, on skyblock they always go to creative mode to get cobble or weakness potion, I see people going to peaceful because the mobs are overwhelming them, I see people cheat ALL THE TIME! I never cheated in minecraft in my whole life, I either play creative or survival, people cheat soo much in minecraft all the time, am I the only one that never cheats and plays the game fairly and that never switches to creative from survival to get stuff and never switches to peaceful.

I only use Creative mode for testing (usually on another world) or for setting up the starting conditions, like the Bedrock challenge in the Survival forum, that requires setting up command blocks to generate bedrock under your feet wherever you go. So you need to start in Creative and then switch mode after the setup.

But I don't care what other people do in their singleplayer worlds (or in multiplayer if everyone agrees) then I figure they're only cheating themselves of the satisfaction of solving their problems the hard way, but that's up to them.

Inside this 50 million people community, it's is GUARANTEED that there is another one that doesn't cheat. That's the kind of thing you have to expect the more the game expands in audience.

I also never cheat when playing survival. It takes the fun out of it.

The only thing I always do when starting a new world is disabling griefing. Otherwise, it´s all done honestly and with hard work.

If you had the intention of using creative or other cheating methods, then you are just planning to play with your own rules. There is a difference.

I have never cheated in a legit survival world. And I have played several of them.

But in many of my other worlds, I give myself resources to skip over the tedious start of a world, as that is not the part that I enjoy. I go into those worlds knowing full well that I would use cheats. Therefore, I'm playing by my rules. Not cheating.

Minecraft is a sandbox. Each individual makes their own rules.

I don't see people cheat, because I play on a friend's server which makes up about 10 people. The only time I ever saw someone cheat was on another server where they house about 50-80 people at any given time. There will always be one or two people that use a mod or resource pack to see ores and stuff.

A lot of people cheat, yes, even on the big servers but I don't think there are more than the ones who play this game casually and just enjoy it. I don't know, I haven't seen a cheater in a while.

If you mean cheaters who use hacked clients, then yeah probably. Whenever I go on multiplayer servers, I see tons of people hacking. They use stuff like aimbot and x-ray to find stuff.

You seem to like complaining about cheaters a lot, but they're not necessarily cheating. Plus, it's not as rampant a problem as you make it out to be.

I highly doubt Minecraft has 50 million people playing - maybe around one million, but even World of Warcraft doesn't have more than 20 million subscribers.

Statistically it's almost impossible to find out if there are more cheaters than legit players, but in my opinion there are more legit players.

I've only just started getting into Minecraft very recently, so I'll admit that to start off I did use some cheats. I didn't want to go through all the tedious work and just wanted to get right into the building. That's the fun part of the game, after all. If you're playing multi-player though, I think it is better to stick to playing the game legit, or it takes away from the balance of the game, in my opinion. I don't really know much about survival mode (survivor mode? not sure, like I said, still just getting into it) but from what I know I'm guessing cheating in there would be a no-no too.

Well, if you want to consider playing in peaceful mode as cheating then sure, a lot of people are cheating. Personally I don't consider it cheating unless you go outside what other people are able to do, in which case there are definitely more legitimate players.

It's totally up to the server admins. If they are present and they take care of their servers, then that server won't see too many hackers, and even if it will, they will deal with them swiftly. I once hosted a server for a brief amount of time, and I noticed that a lot of hackers wanted to try their toys on my server. I quickly banned them, though.

For me, it's actually ok to cheat when they are on Singleplayer, it's their game and do whatever you want to it on your world. But I'm totally not ok if you cheat online, I hate cheaters.

This guy got it right. I'm sure you should not have problems in a well moderated server. You have to be stupid to cheat on minecraft, and creative mode doesn't count. Just stay away from toxic servers and you should be fine.

Yeah, I have a server (not the IP in my signature anymore), and sure we had a few people that tried to cheat, but they were usually caught pretty quickly by anti cheat plugins, otherwise caught by the staff team or reported via the website.
