    So in the recent trailer for metro last light, it seems that Artyom might be getting a tad more dark than originally implied.

    your thoughts?

    Well with what he went through a lot in 2033. Remember that and he was only like 22. He has killed humans and seen strange mutants and ghosts and had dark ones molest his mind. I would have been surprised if he shrugged it off like nothing happened. Maybe the story will also show Artyom going insane?

    also in the trailer he uses his hand to muffle a woman's screams, for either stealth purposes or some other reason, and it seems anna seems to know him on a somewhat personal level being able to talk about him so extensively.

    Artyom losing his mind to this is actually going against the Original Character, and how he was designed. I bet he seems "dark" or they just refer to the Dark Ones.
    Does Last Light have anything to do with Metro 2033 the game? Im slightly confused, but if it doesnt, then it's understandable. ^^

    It would be hard for Artyom not to go crazy, he saw a whole station get covered in rats, he has killed hundreds of people and mutants, he is the reason why the Dark Ones are attacking his station and he also committed genocide on an almost peaceful race. All this guilt and murder shall eventually turn him mad.

    He probably also did the same thing over and over again expecting things to change at VNDhK.

    The thing with Artiyom (mind me, this is taken from the book) Is that he got a natural resistance against mind control (the dark ones) and all that. Also, when he was little his home station ger overrun by rats (think it was normal oversized ones, though you might refer to this in your post), and have seen some horrible things i.e. The Star Above Kreml. I dont think he get crazy that easily.

    The character was designed to not go completely insane. He still almost jumped off the top of the tower and everytime they talked to him he barely snapped out of it. He may be able to "resist" but every time they do it they push the limit. Trust me he is going insane and most likely that's what is going on.

    Everyone has done evil things before and everyone has done good things before. He isn't both at the same time they're just choices that he has made. Is it evil to take a payment for saving someone? No but a really good person wouldn't take it. Would a good person give their last few bullets to a homeless person? Depends. Even the "evil" ending is in a way a good ending since you save humans but you commit genocide in the blind of an eye.

    I was right.
    Yay.
    Prologue level is essentially a giant flashback to this. Artyom survives a Dark One's attack at VDNKh and then Dark Ones' corpses transform into the people from the patrol that he just murdered.

    The way this entire scene is done is pretty freaking dope.
