So, if you're into PvP, the best way to gear and get a shot at a purple piece is to grind Ashran. I feel like it is more of PvE based event. As such, I am not a fan. What are your thoughts? I felt like WG was the last really cool PvP based world event.

Yeah, the problem is that expansions are pretty short, and it takes a long time to change people´s first impressions. I am not sure how Ashan is now, because like most people, it was so horrible at launch I rarely go back.. and when I do go back, it is very empty... and despite this, my FPS is about half while there.

Ashan was ruined basically when it launched and you could get better rewards by doing the side stuff rather than the main event. Horde did the side stuff, Alliance one the games, everyone got the reward, and nobody pvp´d.

Also the whole idea of getting random chests with random chances of gear just feels too artificial for a pvp event ( and is poorly understood). They would be better off just going back to rewarding points that are used to purchase things.

Their chance to change player's impression was to require participation to advance in pvp. If it wasn't mandatory, no one will play the new Ashran. IMO it is better now then on launch for Horde/Alliance fighting. If the games weren't filled with grinders and bots, it would be better.

Are you crazy? Making PvP required in WoW would only serve to drive players away. Wow has lost enough subscribers already.

Yeah, it was crazy when even an achievement for a vanity pet, or the legendary quest last expansion required even a tiny bit of PvP.. people go bonkers if they are ´forced´ to pvp. I remember weeks and weeks of complaining on the forums last year when you had to win 1 time in two different battlegrounds for the legendary quest. And every year, there are always new threads started about Children´s Week requiering PvP..
