There was recently a bit of a Twitter debate around this because the developers at PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds banned a well known Twitch streamer from the game because he was using mods or hacks to do better in the game. The streamer argued that the game would be nothing without him because of how many watchers/views he was getting through Twitch that was basically free advertising for the game. Do you think they were right to ban him or would it have been better to allow him to use those hacks since he did contribute some success to the game?

Unfortunately this is probably one of those areas where the criminals and the bad people are somehow ahead of the good guys. Maybe I am just assuming but that is immediately what came to my mind.

Could you explain what you mean by this? I don't think I completely understood what you are trying to say :). I wouldn't call them criminals or bad guys, to be honest. I'm not 100% sure whether they were modifying the games/hacking to make them invincible or just to add some random stuff to make the game more fun, but there is not much they did that would make them bad guys. It is just a game after all. And of course, they weren't ahead of the good guys for long because the developers banned them pretty much straight away.

I think hackers only motive often is to destroy the gaming infrastructure. Sometimes they wish to have the ownership over the game data and the players. If we ignore all of that part and just ban their accounts. I'd say that would keep the game environment safe for all other genuine players. That should take care of the issue.
