benchmark graph: what are the black and red lines?

    After you complete the benchmark, it shows you an HTML summary of your results, with a graph as shown below.

    What exactly do the black and red lines represent? Presumably they show some sort of maximum/minimum FPS, but how exactly does it work?

    I don't think it shows "frames per second" exactly. If you look at the graph zoomed up, you can see that there is actually more data being shown than there are seconds.

    The screenshot below shows the results for about 12 seconds (see the 0 5 10 on the bottom). But there looks to be actually more than 100 columns of data. If you count both the black lines and the red lines, there are over 200.

    So, what exactly do the red lines and black lines represent?

    It's one line. The benchmark recorded the FPS more than once per second. As a matter of fact, it simply recorded it so many times that it doesn't show up as a clear line within the limited resolution of the condensed graph, since it fluctuates all over the place.

    oh, so the red bit is just the background, while the black is the FPS line? And the line is so up-and-down and jaggy that it ends up looking like separate vertical lines?
