As much as I like Minecraft I'm looking for something different with it, what are your suggestions?

DivineRPG was always really nice, and I think it adds the most new things of any mod I've ever seen, including 7 dimensions if I remember correctly... CaptainSparklez did a survival series with it, if you want to see more about it.

Yep. It also adds countless mobs to the main dimension and nether (and obviously each new dimensions has its own mobs as well), and there are a bunch of new ores so even if you just stay with the main dimension you still get a lot of new things :3

    ZOMBIES!!!!

I get bored easily too and when i do I go kill me some zombies and kick some butt. Hugely fun! You can get bored with it but just don't play it all the time like regular Minecraft.

My favorite mod was the factions mod. I really enjoyed being able to create my own "country" on a multiplayer server and then trade and fight with the other countries on the server. I was slowly able to build my faction into the biggest one on the server.

Zombies is looking pretty good too and thanks for the link. Faction sounds neat but I don't know if I could get the people together for it.

I can recommend the zombie mods. Good to kill some time since there's not much other than zombies. It's hard to recommend any good one because there are so many mods out there. I tried DivineRPG but never liked it, I guess it's not my thing because I mostly just want to build things.

If you are looking for a challenging mod, be sure to check out TerraFirma Craft! TFC is a mod that tries to make minecraft realistic in terms of gathering resources, smelting and things like that. Be sure to check out the website for more information. In TFC, even gathering wood is a problem! You can't simply punch the trees to get wood, you need to collect sticks and stones to make an axe. To make metal tools, you need to find pockets of ore hidden underground, you need to make a special fire and pots and molds! I think you will enjoy it if you are looking to spice things up.

The best modpack I have ever played is Tekkit Classic, I put so many hours into that modpack, and the pack completely changes everything pretty much. I would recommend it if you like a completely different Minecraft experience.

LotsOfItems ( or something like that ) is probably the most helpful mod that will help a first time Minecraft player.

It's like creative mode, but your in survival. It could also be provided in different servers is implemented.

The hardest mods are GregTech in an FTB modpack or OreSpawn. (in my opinion of course)

GregTech makes getting stone harder than it needs to be. And that's just stone. Getting iron is another story altogether. Couple that with IndistrialCraft 2, one of the most confusing but amazing mods I have ever played, then you have got a challenge my friend.

Orespawn is a mod where there are mobs and more weapons and items. It's a fairly huge mod but a very, very difficult one at that. Be wary of huge mobs and the mini-bosses. Especially the Mantis, oh God. That was a terrifying journey and a very difficult battle that ended up having far too many swears aka about three ****'s were shouted out every two words. Yes, I don't know how that's possible but it happened.
