I was thinking, what would you classify as the best mmorpg's for noobs as? I've played a lot of them that are fairly easy and some that are quite hard, but I was thinking, why not create a list of the easy to get into mmorpgs for those noobies out there?

One game that comes to mind would have to be Tera. I find it really easy and I think it's quite easy to get into, may take a bit of time for noobs to get used to, but I had no trouble with it.

List games noobs can easily get into here.

As I mentioned in one of the other threads, RuneScape is really easy to get into and needs no download.

It works from the browser itself and has pretty amazing graphics all things considered.

They recently launched their latest version, RuneScape 3 and it really is a step up. The combat is pretty fun along with the graphics and sound upgrades. It uses HTML5 to run, but you can still use Java if you so prefer.

You should try games like Age of Conan and RuneScape. They are both great noob friendly games. I have not played much of RuneScape, but I liked what I played. It was really easy to get into and addictive from the outset. You are going to like it :)

I've also heard really fantastic things about RuneScape. I can't tell you the number of friends I've had who signed up and then weeks later were still avidly playing, cooking and leveling and in general having a blast in a browser based game!

Though it's a bit more hardcore, World of Warcraft has recently taken steps to be more noob friendly and less devastatingly expensive, so I'd have to add it to the list. It really comes in a sliding scale of difficulty; you can enjoy it as a casual thing, wandering around and doing what jumps out at you, or you can really buckle down and get into the intense WoW experience.

I will choose Maplestory online as the easiest game for newbies. Most of the quests you don't really have to do and you just have to grind really hard.

To be honest, I think all of them are easy. It just takes a little bit of time to get to know how the game works, and get to know the map. I think at the moment, Cube World is the most simplest MMORPG right now. It's still in alpha I believe so there is barely anything at the moment. They said that they will be updating with more content so it would be great if you started early when there's nothing at the moment. It takes about 10 minutes to actually know how to play the game.

I'd definitely agree with Runescape here. I've played on and off, but now I really dislike it. I hate all the changes. These changes are definitely "noob friendly", but not good for a player who has played for years. They've clearly not considered "hardcore" Runescape players with the new updates...

I'll second MapleStory - it's 2D, free and quite an easy game. Haven't played it in a few years so I don't know of any significant changes. Windows only and low hardware requirements.
    Give it a try.

Third on maple story, side scrolling so movement isn't to complicated, and it has basic components of all mmorpgs, macros, skill trees, easy stats. I might get into it since i have a 3 day weekend with labor day

Yea, that's the thing I like about the game man! It has so much more than just combat and there really is something for everyone.

Also, the quests are actual quests rather than fetch quests. The story is pretty great.

I would say Rappelz 99.9% of the people that play it are noobs, but I would not recommend playing it though the severs are bad, the inflation is crazy, and I think the people that still play it must have a few screws loose if you know what I mean.

I loved that game until I got my mac! It really sucks that you can't use it on mac :( I haven't played it in years either now so I have no idea if it's changed either.

The easiest would be hands down Runescape. It's such an easy game to play and very simple. I can personally vouch for this game since I started playing it at 8 years old. I got the hang of how things worked very quickly and loved it ever since then.

I think WoW is the easiest to get in to for beginners. It's not too difficult to digest and the quests are all laid out for you. That's probably the reason why I got addicted to it in the first place.

Either Maplestory Or WoW. Maplestory is easy and it doesn't have complicated concepts.
WoW used to be hard, but nowadays everyone can join the game and the tutorial will teach you almost everything you need to now.

I would have to agree with those who said MapleStory. Then again, MS was pretty much my first MMORPG, so maybe I'm a bit biased. The game hardly has any sort of learning curve; the controls and combat system are simple, the interface is easy to understand, the skill trees are rather simple, and the questlines are rather straight forward. There isn't any complicated upgrade or crafting system either. It's rather casual as well. It also has all the things a typical MMORPG has: boss raids, PvP, open world, skill systems, etc. Though I guess LaTale may fit into that category as well, too.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is a good game for those who are used to single player games with RPG elements like Mass Effect. It can get complicated if you want it to be, but if you want to experience a good story, you can simply play through the story just to get the initial effect.

I wouldn't really recommend Runescape, due to it being outdated, however Maplestory should be considered due to it's easiness and fun game mechanics while also introducing the player to the workings and background of a proper MMORPG. Although as a general rule, I don't think any MMO's should be particularly hard to get into. Think about how the genre is essentially the blending of multiple genres, and if you are a gamer already, you would have at least tried multiplayer gaming, you would probably know about the basic RPG mechanics, and so on.

WoW is pretty easy to get into. The tutorial has already been updated a couple of times and is pretty simple and instructive.
My brother who is 13 years old had no problems at all.
