Best upgrade from an R9 280X?

    I'm looking forward to playing Rise of the Tomb Raider soon, but I've heard the graphical requirements are kind of high. That being said, the game is gorgeous, and I'm thinking about picking up a GPU upgrade so that I can play it in Ultra. I'm rocking an XFX R9 280X right now. What's the most logical upgrade from here? I'm thinking about upgrading to an R9 390, or 290X, but I'm not sure if the price is worth the performance difference.

    I personally would wait for the next generation of AMD cards before you consider hopping onto another card. The r9 280x is a very competent card and it should have no trouble playing Rise of the Tomb Raider at max settings with only some things turned down such as anti-aliasing. Therefore, I would advise you against getting an R9 390 or 290x at the moment, as I don't think you'll achieve the leap in performance that you are expecting.

    Unless you want to go the GTX route I would wait for the next generation of AMD cards, as @coolyfrost already said. R9 280X should be more than enough for now.
