It seems that Blizzard is going to start sending out physical gifts to players who have been subscribed since the beginning. Funny in that other thread we are talking about how much you have spent in WOW.. these are the people who are probably up to $2000 or so.

Nice gesture on Blizzards part, will be interesting to see what is in the packages.

Do you have a source for this claim, though? I could see it happening. Blizzard has always been a more than decent company, but I'm assuming it's not going to be anything huge.

It's a figurine and someone pointed out you can get a painted version for $30. It's a mini version of the statue that's in front of Blizzard's Headquarters. Only difference is that the coloring of the figure is 'bronze.' It's still pretty cool though and the fact that they did it shows amazing dedication to their fans.

You can google Orc Warrior Wolf Rider for the painted version.

It's awesome that they rewarded the long term players. Even if I don't qualify for one, props to them for sticking around for so long. But they probably made way more money in 10years than they spent on the statue xD.

Yeah, doing the math, 10 years of subs alone is $1800.

That sure is a lot of money for a video company. Don't think there is a game which has such longevity and subscription fees.

Everquest is a close one since they've been around longer but for consistency for subs, WoW currently holds the record. $1800 is a lot of money but considering 10 years, it's a really cheap hobby.

There are ones older. Ultima Online is a few years older than Everquest. But even at it´s peak, EQ had about 1/20 the subscribers WOW does now... so for EQ to have made as much money as WOW, it would have to be 200 years old... (since WOW is 10 now).

I wonder how many people have actually been subscribed for the full ten years? I know I have been playing since beta but it has been off and on. It's stilla decent amount of money considering the cost of the games and expansions as well as all the subbed time accumulated. I feel that people like me should get some sort of consideration as well, even if its just an in-game item or a card! Who is with me?

UO used to do veteran rewards. I think they started on year 4, and then you would get new rewards each year. It is funny to think about considering how different UO was from WOW... but dye tubs, basically the ability to dye your armor in really unique colors was a big reward. A black dye tub was a 1st year reward, and then there were some really rare colors that were higher year rewards. The other big vet reward was statues. There were a couple dozen I think, and many were just statues of creatures from the game, like gargoyles, ettins and lizardmen.

Can you imagine if WOW introduced armor dying tubs and only gave them to people with 5 years of subs? it would be chaos.

I still miss UO from pre-AOS... best game ever.

Well this year's 10th anniversary offered players an in game pet and a mount that you got from a rehashed MC and another pet that dropped on chance. Yeah it would have been nice to have tiered rewards for x amount of years that you've had the game/played it but eh. I'm not too upset over it.

Geez thats a ton of money. But thats really considerate of Blizzard to think of their customers like that, even though the gift isnt that great..
