OK, Borderlands is not the typical RPG game, it's an FPS shooting game, but I believe that the combination of leveling up, talent trees and massive loot, can give it a spot in the RPG games hall. I have played both Borderlands 1 and 2 and I found that these games have a lot to offer. Action-packed gameplay, interesting -and a little psychotic- characters, dark and mesmerising storyline, and everything is taking place in this "Mechanical Wonderland" dystopia called Pandora. Have you played this series? What's your opinion? Oh and... Tiny Tina is the best!
I've played it and it's one of the few FPS's I've enjoyed, maybe it's because it resembles an RPG in some ways like you say.
I agree that its not the typical RPG - I think it is much better. I played (and finished) both Borderlands 1 and Borderlands 2, and enjoyed every second of them. I do agree that it is an RPG, but I don't agree that Tiny Tina is the best. More like Zero, or maybe Handsome Jack with Butt Stalltion
It's not my favorite RPG, but I really enjoy the game because it was unique if your not a big fan of shooters I would still recommend trying the game.
Wasn't a fan of Borderlands 2 just due to the change in environment and I guess being just a little bored of the whole thing they had going but regardless its a pretty unique and quirky game, definitely deserves a spot here.
I've clocked almost 100 hours into Borderlands 2. I'm a huge fan. The first one was fun but it lacked personality. I'd love to see more of it in the future. I just hope they scale down the absurd amount of health that enemies have at higher difficulties because it was obviously designed to force you to play with a group.
My main issue with Bordelands 2 as opposed to 1 is the classes. I feel they were much better in the first game, the one I've enjoyed more in the first one was the Hunter and there was just nothing like it in the second one, maybe the Mechromancer but even then it was quite different.
Zero is pretty much the same as Mordecai. You can just use skill up the right tree so he has all the same bonuses that Mordecai had in the first one. It's just cool to have the super long range and super close range combination with Zero now.
Is it? Mordecai was a long-range sniper who has a kick-ass firebird for an ability. Zero can just go invisible for his ability.... Unless I'm missing something (highly likely)
Maybe I'm the only one here but I hated Borderlands from the start. The silly graphics, the story and the world for me were disappointing and soon after starting I deleted the game from the computer. Maybe in the future I would give it another try but right now I can't say nothing good about this game.
The Borderlands games are by far my favorite shooter games, although I thought they could use better graphics. The dialogue was great and hilarious in both games and I really liked the main villain (Handsome Jack) both times around. My only issue would be that I wanted to see more classes! The ones offered in Borderlands 2 appealed to me even less than those offered in 1, but I still found at least one class that was fun to play.
Borderlands is relatively fun, I especially love the humor of the game. My only problem is that it's basically a grind/farm fest. It's like if Diablo was made into an FPS. Not particularally my thing.
I loooove Borderlands 2, one of the most fun damn games I've ever played. I would keep playing it too but I'm waiting to see if the Vita version is good. Portable BL2? YES!
Borderland rullz! I liked how the weapons were randomly created so there were tons and tons of optios. The storyline was pretty nice and driving cars was just a big plus. I really enjoyed playing it!
Haha, really, the storyline? I found the storyline in the first Borderlands to be fairly lame, the weakest aspect of that game, specially the ending. Borderlands 2 has a nice one, though, and Borderlands 2 actually makes the story of BL1 much more interesting.
I totally agree, Borderlands' storyline was very very weak, although they fixed this in the second game, which has a pretty decent one for an FPS.
I played the first game for a while and it was a fun FPS with RPG elements, but the story was too weak. I've heard that the 2nd game improves many things but I've never played it.
When I said story-line I meant both games as a single story. BL1 was pretty lame indeed, but after BL2 came out, it started to make some sense.
Then yes, I agree with you. I thought you had meant just BL1 and not both, my bad. BL2 sure did a lot with its story, and while it's silly and feels like it has some holes, it managed to be both entertaining and make the story in BL1 more interesting by adding more details to it. Plus, Handsome Jack. Dude could carry the entire story on his back alone, such a great character.
