How in God's name does it work? I've played exclusively using the linear inventory and I gave the circular variant a try, and I can't for the life of me figure it out.

And apparently, they're using it in Last Light, so I'm going to need some practice

Circular Inventory was an option for the consoles iirc. I used it but I didn't like it because there are too many items you can carry in Metro 2033 that selecting grenades or a knife can be tricky compared to the linear version.

I'll be using linear and I just hope that there is a better weapon select screen instead of bland looking boxes.

Lol I just selected the correct number key for the weapon from my keyboard.
And just used T to see the resources I had left.

I'm on console, the controls are clunky even with circular. I just need to know how to select a weapon!

I don't have it on console, so I'll be probably talking cr*p, but can't you pause and go to inventory screen or something like that?

Yeah it reminded me of fallout 3 shortcuts for weapon selection.

The circular inventory was much better for console, but I can see why it would be pointless for PC.

Oh yeah, my bad. :) It was designed to be used with the analog controller, while on PC you could just use a shortcut key or mouse.

I personally found it smoother and much easier to use than linear. Much quicker to get the right weapon out for the job.

I'm a console player and I still prefer linear. It's what I played with for the longest time, and using circular just feels wrong to me.

I suppose I have to get used to it since that's what they're using for LL.

I'm console and I started with linear but then switched to circular and now prefer this

Same. It's much simpler and very efficient.
