Where are the expected/best places to ward while you're jungling?

Well, since you cannot carry loads of wards, [unless you are lee sin]. The ward you carry should be placed in the best places on the map. And that really depends. What I personally do, Is ask my lanes if they know where the enemy team have a ward, and I go there and pink it. This provides both vision to my laner, along with a gank opportunity since you deny vision from the enemy laner.

If they don't know where the wards are same rules apply. You pink there is nothing there, It's perfectly fine. You know for sure that the enemy do not know that you are there.

A more basic idea, is warding gank paths, entrances to jungles, buff control wards etc. If you have no support or if he cannot afford wards, it's also good to ward objectives if your team willing to compete for them.

I try to ward the gank paths where I can, but I feel like I don't know them all yet. I will in time though, I guess. Never really thought to purchase pink wards unless I was going against a stealthier champion like Evelynn or Teemo, but I'll keep that in mind next time I play, thanks! :D

The best thing to do is to communicate with your teammates. But we all know that doesn't happen always. Generally, I try to place buff control wards, the dragon, and place a pink ward on an area in my jungle where I know there's a ward. I absolutely hate it when the enemy jungler invades my jungle.

I'd suggest warding around the middle, the enemy jungle, tribushes or either your red or blue. Usually the lanes got their sides covered, but many entrances to your jungle isn't covered.

If you don't like buying wards, at least buy a few for your jungle, and the enemies blue. Because if you can see that their jungler is for example: ganking top and their blue has spawned, steal it. It will definitely set him back regardless if his gank was successful or not.

Warding enemy buffs after the initial 1.40 of the game, it's a waste in my opinion. What I mean is, [and i'm going to focus only on the buffs for this example] more or less the game is about strategy. Scenario, It's 7.15 and you see the enemy jungler let's say he is amumu ganking top, while you are at the bottom area of the map. So your way of thinking should be something in the lines of, OK. He is amumu 90% he started blue, He is quite a clear faster even lvl 1, especially if they hard pulled for him, So he's is ganking top at the time his blue is about to respawn, let's just go and steal his.

You already know things like that, you don't have to spend gold to have the vision.

Also help ward your winning lanes, In my experience I found out that it works great for me, ward for the winning lane, gank for the equal lane, avoid the losing lane.

The tribush are the best because you can obviously see in all three directions. I usually place one in each mid bush and one by the dragon.

I feel like the jungler should ward buffs and dragon/baron whenever possible. Just like how every other lane is supposed to ward for their own lane, the jungler should also ward for his 'lane' which is the jungle and the opponents jungle. This way the buffs can be secured and even counterjungling can be avoided since you have vision on the enemy jungler most of the time. Also, by warding inside the jungle, you can tell where the enemy jungler is headed towards to counter gank or to prevent a gank from occurring. It's sad that most junglers don't ward as much as they should but hopefully this will change in season4.

As a jungler, I believe you should ward the enemy's blue and red buff. You should also ward your own if they have been invading, and if they haven't then you now have a chance to steal and invade their buffs because you have vision.

I jungle as my main, but tend to be quite spares with wards. I usually let the support ward drake, and I might pop a ward by the enemy blue buff. Other than that though, I don't find it is needed.

I do like to play shaco in the jungle though, and a combination of his jibs (which are like 1min wards), ability to escape sticky situations and strong counter jungle ability mean I am pretty much covered. I prefer to save the money for items, because of you fall behind, it can take ages to catch up.

The absolute best place to ward when you're the jungler is near the entrance to the enemy jungle near the wraith camp.
You want vision of when the jungler is entering and leaving the jungle, and it also helps your team know whether the enemy jungler is going to gank mid or top (bot if you're on purple side). The entrance to the jungle near dragon should be warded too, but supports usually handle that.

If that's spot is already warded, you can ward the enemy buffs (or your own), and you just help your laners keep the river warded.

I always like to ward near the entrance of the enemy jungle. It gives a good vision and it helps prevent ganks, or an enemy trying to harass you.
Warding the enemy buffs is also a good idea because it lets you know when to attack.
