    Why is this give away only in the US, while the producers are from Europe?

    Too bad I'm not from the USA. Why can't these giveaways take place in Europe? There is a THQ office near London.

    I'm intrigued, can I ask a question. Do these Gas masks actually work? Or are they replica's, more for show and not functional?

    I'm not from the U.S.

    Wtf i'm sick of these US only contests. As already pointed out, most of us is from eother Oceania or Europe.

    As I'm from England it annoys me too, HOWEVER, I know why.

    It's because in Europe you need to check the law to make sure people can't sue you for some reason, if you send them a package. They'd need to check for each country as well, so they'd have to hire lawyers.

    However, in the US, 49 states don't have this law. I think the only one that does is Rhode Island.

    I agree, it is a pretty cool idea, however it is not well thought-out. Most fans of Metro are in Europe. They are making it US only because of the restrictions that have been mentioned or to enlarge their American fanbase. Either way, we can't do anything about it. Though it is a shame as I'd love a free gas mask. :(

    This is exactly the reason why the contests are USA only. We all know we wouldn't sue THQ, and I think they know that too. But legal matters are legal matters. Heck, I want a gasmask too, but I'm not getting one. As Skaara pointed out, be happy that they're trying to make Metro popular. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid all I can say is welcome to the real world, it sucks. :/

    laws are laws. I hope that THQ will give away avatar, game codes, high res desktop wall paper themes in the future which will make up for this small legality with giving away prizes like gas masks, posters etc in Europe.

    Its funny because I would guess that over half the forum (probably closer to 75%) is NOT FROM USA

    Canada here:rant:.

    I'd expect THQ will be running competitions through Gaming reviewers (EuroGamer; Gamespot, CVGUK, Kotaku etc etc) for different territories. That way you have a chance to win some swag through them.

    Well, I'm not sure about the other websites, but GameSpot usually gives out stuff only to its US members. The UK team (although very awesome) rarely gets those privileges. :(

    So US residents have a chance to get a free gas mask? Sweet. I'm in the US and that works for me.

    For the majority of people on this forum (residents of Europe/Canada) I'm sorry that you don't have a chance to participate in it. Maybe in 21 or so years we'll all have gas masks, Eh?
