Hi, I'm new here. I just wonder what you guys think of the Corpse system in metro 2033. I thought the corpses in metro 2033 were kind of stupid. How come all of the bodies I come across either look like they are recently killed or is just a skeleton? Honestly that's impossible. They should show different rate of decay among the corpses. And just plain old skeletons in the tunnels? That's not correct, If a person dies, Their clothes would probably remain somewhat on the skeleton.

I think in Last Light they should show different degrees of decay for corpses. Not just recently dead and skeleton.

Also what I would like to see, to remind people walking on the surface that Moscow was indeed once a city, we should show a lot more skeletons on the surface. Eg, a skeleton in a business suit in a wrecked car. A skeleton in their clothes and choclate wrappings locked in a room (from the novel). And we should have some sort of imprint of people on concrete steps etc (they were vaporized when the nuclear bomb hit). Maybe have the player walk through a hospital on the surface. see everything left behind, all the people who were once looking for help, now nothing more than clothes and bones.

And Animals man, animals. In the novel we see cats, dogs, pigs, and rats at least. Metro is not just people, mutants, rats. We need some normal animals no?

I dont think there where any whole skeletons, well maby one or two, but there where alot of skulls.
And with the bodies being fresh, most bodies Artyom come across is fresh, and those who are not has ben eaten to the bone by mutants and rats.
But i like your idea to have shreeded clothes on the skeletons and having dead civilians on the surface.
Also there where animals in the game, pigs, rats, no dogs though as i remember and the only cat Artyom sees in the book was hallucinations i think.

The skulls and remains should be, you know, brown and stained and stuff. But every skull or ribcage I come across in the game are like bloody and looks recently scavenged.

In the novel the Stalkers says the 2 men and the cat were hallucination. I don't think so, I think they are real. But this is debatable.

Well, i think on the Really abandoned tunnels (like near Turgenevskaya...oops drooped my book :p) there should be corpses left to decay.

there should have been rotting in lost catacombs (my fave level :3) too.

and animals... there were pigs (at VDNKh) but I agree, catz etc. would totally be uber.

    and ponies for spitfire

There were dead pigs in Cursed station, and I guess the reason the skeletons usually have no clothes (check out the female skeleton to the left in "Ghosts", it has a ragged dress on) is because they rot quickly, especially with a rotting body beneath them. Rats will eat anything. There are dead rats everywhere, too, they're on the ground, and slightly squashed (eh...).

And yes, all of those are from memory! :D
