Many of the games out there today have certain daily quests that can be done to move your character towards some specific goal such as reputation. Others incorporate daily caps on certain aspects of the game to prevent one from completing objectives immediately. While I believe that it makes sense to prevent a person from hitting the same quest twenty times a day, I do not feel that daily caps on other aspects are always suitable.

Dailies and Daily Caps create a bit of a penalty for the more enthusiastic gamer. If they are not endgame material, they become a burden as you have leveled well beyond their usefulness in some cases. The casual gamer may only play enough to hit these caps and is able to progress on these objectives more continuously. As a result, the casual gamer may reap the benefit earlier in the game than the enthusiast.

Would a system that was capped based on character level be better, worse, or just the same problem in another way?

I think dailies are just used as an incentive to motivate subscribers to keep playing the game. They show you reputation rewards, which in most cases are good, and then force you to do dailies for 2 months until you reach your goal. I think that dailies should be removed from any game, and be replaced by something more worthwhile, like casual dungeons or user created content, like those available on Star Trek Online or Neverwinter.

I think that dailies are there to make sure you don't get exalted with a reputation in a day, get the epics and have nothing to do afterwards.
While I do support dailies I rarely like the rewards they have to offer at the end. In WoW it's usually items which I have already no use for since I've gotten better from raiding and the only incentive are mounts and achievements.

I really don't like games that give you daily tasks to do as if the game were an important part of your routine. If they need to limit your gameplay then the game is probably just lacking real content.

I don't like doing dailies, never have, however I do believe they are important part. After all we can't spend all our time in the games we play in dungeons and pvp right? :)

I think it's a good way to get players coming back to the game. It's kind of a cheap way to drag out the questlines but some people like it because they don't have to spend too much time on them everyday. I dislike it personally because it's too restricting and I feels like an everyday routine that I can't miss.

Personally I love daily quests in MMOs. I believe there is a fine line between work and fun with daily activities or "chores", but I think it's sort of a good routine. Though I have to agree with you guys that the monotony of doing them can be tiresome.

Reputation grinds were more fun than dailies honest, as bad as that sounds. I only did dailies when I needed spare cash or reputation.

Maybe re-balance dailies more in accordance to player level. But they wont increase the rewards substantially. They all ant us to drop real cash for in game items.

Dailies are okay. They are interesting in the beginning. After some time they get very boring. I guess they are just very repetitive.

After awhile, Dailies become "chores" you have to do. However, I'm not really sure what you can do to keep them fresh. They're absolutely needed so you don't grind an exalted rep in a day, but I also don't like the concept of having to do something when I want to play for fun.

thejamal has it right in my mind. Do the dishes, my hytbold dailies, the laundry, wildermore, go to work eat sleep repeat. Dailies can, if they are necessary to the gameplay (my examples were not) eat up playtime and leave you with a rather boring routine rather than allowing you to progress. I am not really against them but I would like to see if there are alternative options.
