Hi. I bought Metro 2033 for PC during a steam sale a year or two ago, and it stands as one of my favorite games of all time. The thing is that my PC setup is pretty low-end.

    Specs:
    4GB RAM
2.8 gHz processor (apparently it boosts up to 3.3 under stress)
    Intel HD 4000

I'm no PC hardware expert by any means, but from what I understand, my processor is fine, RAM is low but acceptable, and the integrated graphics are what's mainly holding me back.

I normally played the game on high settings and just ate through 13 FPS and played slowly so I could experience some eye-candy, but I've kind of ruined it for myself by playing a few well optimized games on good framerates. At 960x800 on low settings, I can get 20-40 FPS throughout the game, with it averaging at around 28 and peaking up to 60 in some really tight spaces.

So here's my question: should I buy Metro LL for PC, save 15 bucks and get the free e-book, or should I not risk it and instead get it for 360? I'm more than willing to deal with minimum settings since they're typically on-par with 360 graphics (which I spend a lot of time looking at), but all that 4A has talked about in terms of optimization is how well it runs on high-end PC's. If it's better optimized to run more smoothly on low settings (I'll turn off AA and put the resolution on a minimum of 960x800 if I need to), then I think I'd prefer the PC version. If it cripples my machine as poorly as 2033 does, then I'd rather get the 360 version.

TL:DR Low-end PC, need help deciding whether to buy for PC or 360. Any input is appreciated.

Honestly,i wouldn't even bother picking it up for the PC if that's the pc you're planning on playing on. Not to sound like an ass or something.
I'd go and pick it up for the Xbox if i were you.

Why not see if your computer can fit in a new graphics card and just get a new card that comes with the game? I hear LL is coming with some Nvidia cards. You would be killing two birds with one stone since PC gaming spanks console gaming. If that isn't an option then I'd go with the 360 version.

I think the RP feeling would be greater if you picked it up for consoles, which is probably your best choice.
I dunno though, just do what you feel like ;D

The intel HD 4000 isn't meant for games, Last Light would totally kill it :eek:hwell:.

With a laptop like that, I would suggest going with the console version instead, since then you'll be playing at a higher resolution (assuming you have a HD television) and with a more consistent frame rate. :)

    Also, welcome back Thuner! :D

Your processor is fine, and your RAM too, 4 Gbs is not low, I have 2 and I can play most modern games on high. But as you said, your video card is weak, so, if you don't want to spend more money now, I think the best option is buying the game for Xbox, but, if you can buy a 200 dollars video card, you will be able to play Metro and a lot of games without worry for some years. Well, maybe you will have to change your processor and put a little more RAM, but that's another story :p

I'd go with the Xbox version.
Your PC can't handle the game. :(
