I got into the beta on the last weekend, but wasn't able to play, so I jumped all over this chance.

The game seemed a lot better than I had expected. Combat felt solid (although a bit laggy, though I suppose that is to be expected). I felt the character creation lived up to the rest of the series, for the most part. The only thing I can say that I really didn't enjoy was the class selection. One of my favorite parts of the Elder Scrolls games was the ability to create my own class in a D&D style, and that really doesn't seem to be incorporated yet.

Anyways, did you guys enjoy what you got to experience in the beta? Do you think it's worth the $15/month payments?

I have not played it personally, but I have seen game-play videos it looks like fun, but to me no game is worth $15 a month that might not seem like a lot, but overtime that adds up quickly that's $180 a year.

Not particularly. The game was way over hyped, and didn't meet my expectations at all.

I personally wasn't impressed by the Beta. There are a few things that I could point to, but the main factor was that it just couldn't keep me interested. The game is so dumbed-down compared to any other Elder Scrolls title. This is to be expected of course going from an rpg to an mmo, but I couldn't help but be disappointed by the story. Another thing I didn't enjoy a whole lot was the combat. It feels really weak. I can see the whole usual grindy combat system being in place here as in so many other mmo's. Usually not perhaps a bad thing but I wanted more from this, given that it is an Elder Scrolls game. The world was relatively impressive though, it must be said. Personally I think it is just too much money for very little entertainment. Couldn't really keep playing the beta past a few hours.

Whilst I never received my Beta key despite signing up for it quite early, I have been watching a lot of play threws on you tube and I'm pretty impressed by what I'm seeing so far. I'm just slightly frustrated that I never got the chance to play it myself.

I signed up for the beta version of the game nearly the second the started accepting applications, but the never got back to me. I even tried again with a different email and still no word from them. I am a bit disappointed that I still haven't had a chance to play the game. At least it's official release is almost here.

I never played the beta, but I have seen videos of it on Youtube it does look like a fun MMO, but personally it isn't worth the cost to play, but maybe that could change when the game is actually released, but either way I will be waiting at least a year or so before I invest in playing ESO.

    Short answer: No.

    Long Answer:

It doesn't play like a Elder Scrolls game and it doesn't feel like one. It feels way too incomplete for a spring release considering it's current state. However, because of skyrims popularity it's going to be super successful for atleast the first six months.

Haven't actually got the chance to get into beta, so I haven't played. But I've been watching some videos and streams, and I have to say I like it.

I'll even try to get beta access, to enjoy it from the first hand, but I'm not sure will I play when it releases. It's really expensive for me, I'm not sure will I be able to afford it.

I did enjoy the beta. I do have to say that it dragged a bit though. Especially the starting two islands. It felt exactly like every other MMO I had played. It's really weird because normally a game will draw you in and then get worse. It wasn't terrible, but I wasn't absolutely drawn in.

It looks really, really well done, but also really incomplete. Hopefully they don't pull a DayZ and release just to snag prematurely to snag extra cash. That would be a nightmare.

I personally loved the beta version. As I had never ever laid my hands on Elder Scrolls before, I absolutely loved this game.

I got in on the Beta test. Since it was the first Elder Scrolls I've ever played, I don't have the negative comparison with other Elder Scrolls games that some have mentioned. As a newbie, I appreciated the "dumbed-down" aspect of it - because I was learning as I played. I still don't think I would pay $15 a month indefinitely for it, though.

Absolutely not. This was when I realized this was just another MMO which would die off pretty quick since WoW is ruling everything in MMO land.

I haven't actually played WoW, either, but I've (obviously) heard a lot about it. Still, I don't know if ESO will disappear, despite the subscription fee, since it is pretty well known.
