Did you play both sides?

During my 6 years of playing, I played almost entirely Alliance. I did have a couple low level Horde, but I just never got into it because the bulk of my friends and guild were Alliance-side.

I had plenty of friends who played both sides, though, and insisted that it was worth leveling up on Horde side at least once in order to experience the quests.

Did/do you always stick to one side or do you switch between Horde and Alliance? Are the quests on one side better than the other?

I was the opposite. Most of my friends played Alliance, but I didn't connect with the lore of the Alliance and played Horde for most of my subscriptions. I would say I played Horde 90% of the time and Alliance 10% of the time. Currently, I am playing mainly Alliance because my wife wanted to focus on Alliance after restarting from scratch on a different account. I have to say say if it wasn't for my wife, I would not play Alliance at all.

I have never played Horde. I just don't like the landscape where you spawn as Horde. I like the forest around Stormwind or leveling around Dun Morogh as a dwarf.

I've always played Alliance, I was never interested in the Horde side. All my friends played Alliance as well, so it was an easy decision :)

What is it about Horde lore that you can relate with more, if you don't mind me asking? And are you enjoying playing Alliance at all now or is it only the enjoyment with your wife being there and not the game side itself?

Yes, I have played both sides. It gave me the opportunity to explore different parts of the game without being in enemy territory. Unlike a lot of my fellow players, I never thought one side was better than the other. I did find, however, that more new players were on the alliance side.

I've played both. Horde feels like it has more trolls, but Alliance had more generally bad players. It depends on what server you're on, though. There are some Horde and some Alliance dominated servers, and playing the weak side can feel bad. Presently Horde on Terokkar as an Undead Prot Warrior.

Nope, in every MMO or MMORPG I play I find it really really hard to start with a new character. That's why in pretty much every game I just have one.

I had played both Alliance and Horde but I feel more confortably in the Horde. The people I met in Alliance were pretty much selfish and they did not cooperate. On the other hand the Horde had exactly opposite players and always helped me when I needed something.

Probably played Alliance 40% to Horde 60%. Played a lot more Alliance during my later days and Horde to begin with. I'd say Alliance players are usually better at PvP than Horde but that might just be my observation, I really only played in 1 realm/battlegroup. The horde PvE zones are definitely king though.

I've played both sides and although I enjoyed horde a lot more for some reason I've been stuck with alliance throughout my whole WoW experience...
Even now I really want to reroll horde, but since all my friends are playing alliance I literally have no choice lol :p

Yea, unfortunately in the same situation. Horde just tends to have better players on it, but all my RL friends play alliance. And that's half the reason I'm still subbed to Wow right now. Perhaps time to force some friends to faction change?

I'd love to faction change, but there are too many people that I have to ask(like 10 rl friends + 15 or so guild mates lol) and if even 2-3 don't want it won't happen.
Perhaps in the expansion I'll level 1 horde for PvP only...

Having played both sides, I can confirm Horde generally has nicer and better players so long as you treat them nice in return.

You should definitely just level up a new character on horde side. There's no need in trying to convince all your friends to actually faction change and move over. That's highly unlikely to happen. But maybe grab a few of your friends and you could all level up new characters together (or not) and have a blast doing something on the other side.

I talked with 2 friends and probably when we preorder our Warlords of Draenor copies we will create 1 horde character then, since we will have free level 90 boost :D

I've never played Horde outside of trying out a Shaman before they were available on both sides, I had one character of each class but all on the Alliance side.

I would level up alts on both factions but I would mainly stick with horde.

I always played Alliance. I`m not exactly sure why I could never bring myself to roll a Horde toon. It could be from the fact that I like Night Elves so much and most of my characters were Night Elves. However, on my server, we lost a lot to Horde in Battlegrounds. :D
