I know most memes are no longer funny after passing a certain period, but I still like this meme a lot
Nope, the game's been out for so long so the meme basically has died out just like everything else. I'm glad that it's gone now, that meme was so rampant that eveywhere I turned to online, I saw one. It was funny at first, but after a hundred times, it just turned into an annoyance.
Most people nowadays won't even get the reference. And then it's akward to explain where it comes from and what it means. It's still funny when you hear it in the game though.
Haha, I forgot all about that meme!! In which case, that pretty much answers the question.... it has been so long since I have seen it used that I had the time to forget about it entirely, so no, people don't really use it any more. I saw some hilarious examples back when it was spreading like wildfire, though.
Never really found it funny to begin with, like all memes. Haven't heard it in a while however, so I think its pretty much died down.
One question that has always bothered me with the meme. Is it "arrow in the knee" or "arrow to the knee?" As far as I remember, the original in the game was "arrow to the knee" so where did the other one come from? The meme was overused, which was the reason why it died out so quick.
I think it is "Arrow to the Knee", the other one is just a grammatical mistake I think. The meme is till very much around, and quite funny even 2 years later.
Thanks for the clarification. I knew that it was "arrow to the knee" because it's correct grammatically. It's just that so many people said "arrow in the knee" I thought there was something else to it. It's fascinating how people can mistaken some simple stuff sometimes.
I would hope nobody would use any meme unironically. I still get annoyed when people do the whole such wow much dumb shit.
I haven't seen it on facebook or twitter for a while, so my best bet is no, not at all... wasn't that funny anyhow
I see the meme every know and then online, but it has been a while. The other day I overheard someone say "But then I took an arrow to the knee" and just giggled a little bit. It's still kind of funny.
It used to be funny, but then soon it died out and became pretty annoying, especially if the joke is forced. Just like what some say, if you force it, it is probably crap. Memes going down in the meme oblivion is inevitable, if the hype dies, the meme dies.
I still see the meme being used every once in a while, but for the most part I believe it has died out. I remember a period in time when it was all I saw on the internet.
I see it a little too but not nearly as much as I did quite sometime ago. I don't think it fully died out I just think better memes have came across to cover it up a bit. I am sure it will be back at some point, or a variation of it.
I haven't seen it in a while, and I'm glad for that, because it was getting on my nerves how often I heard it and started to expect it after a while. But I think if I don't hear it for a while, or perhaps even hear it in TESO, then I may find it funny again.
I found the meme very boring from the start. I'm glad it is mostly gone by now. I jsut don't understand how people grabbed this sentence out of the game and made it a meme, what was so special about a random guard saying a one-liner?
For me, it just seemed so out of place that in this world were there is magical healing etc, that a injury like that would completely immobilize him. Almost a sports injury. basically it was funny because there was no reason an arrow to knee should have stopped him. My own character took about 1000 arrows to everything throughout the game xD
It was a fad. Things come and go, when people usually look back at fads, they normally think it's stupid. In this case, I agree that it is stupid, since it's just a boring reference to a game that people enjoyed at that time. Memes come and go.
