Do the mutants deserve extermination?

    I wasn't too sure where to post this so I decided to do it here. Now I always had this at the back of my mind but I never really put some thought into it until I heard about the raid on the Library. The Order sent in soldiers to take back the library. The only way they could achieve this is by taking out the Librarians.

    Now keep in mind the Librarians only attacked stalkers who intruded the library. They just wanted to protect their home and their children. Yet the Order, with their massive stock piles of weapons, didn't think twice about purging them from existence.

    This brings me back to my initial question. Do the horribly mutated creatures that inhabit the destroyed world deserve death?

    Would you be able to drive the Watchers out of their home in the Church? Gunning down anything that moves?

    I'm think they first mention it at "Sparta". Several NPC also make references to it throughout the game.

    I'll try to get exact quotes when I get some time to replay the game.

    Extermination? Only the spider bugs, they must be eradicated!!! Everything else should only be killed when they attack, and only if unprovoked. Like if you go into the church before the watchmen run back inside _-_ that would be provoking them, just wait.

    As for the librarians, in terms of the game, even though they scare the shit out of me I don't think they deserve to be slaughtered whole sale.

    If the Watchers are descended from dogs, then they would have to replace dogs...might be able to domesticate them.

    Those amphibious lobster critters don't attack unless you get close or disturb them, but they taste good. So we should do what Venice station already does...fish them sustainably. I also thought the spiders looked edible...simply abandon a small bunker long enough for them to colonise it, then turn the lights back on with a remote switch to kill the lot when its time to harvest them. Wash, rinse, repeat.

    Maybe, but it wouldn't matter anymore...both are the same species and can interbreed. In real life, Russia has a serious problem with wandering stray dogs in cities that can be dangerous to people.

    Watch the whole theatre play and you'll get an idea if the watchers can be domesticated or not
