Do you listen to music while you're playing Minecraft?

Most of you probably enjoy listening to music while gaming, and the genre of music probably depends on the game you're currently playing and the very play style of that specific game.

But with all that in mind, do you actually listen to specific songs while playing Minecraft or do you simply enjoy listening to the original sound track of the game?

Personally, I find music while gaming extremely distracting since I can't actually multi-task at all even if it's something as easy as listening to music, I just find it extremely distracting and can't focus at all whatsoever, so I just stick with the original Minecraft background music even though it isn't constantly playing and can get quite creepy at times.

Personally, I enjoy Mincrafts soundtrack, it's so peaceful when exploring but tense when caving or fighting mobs at night. Yes, I agree, I find the soundtrack very creepy sometimes. However, if I'm not listening to Minecrafts soundtrack, I am usually listening to relaxing or house/electro.

I feel the exact same way most of the time, it's just a love-hate relationship between me and the Minecraft Soundtrack.

While it can be quite calm and relaxing most of the time - there are some cases where it's just plain terrifying due to the fact that you're not certain what triggers it.

Yes, I actually do listen to music while laying Minecraft (music that is not from Minecraft itself). A while back I used to listen to Skrillex Scry Monsters and Nice Sprites while playing Minecraft with Dokucraft and it was soooooo amazing......

I usually listen to acoustic songs, so I find it really relaxing sometimes when I'm in the zone, building something in my creative world or things like that. However, when I play multiplayer (especially PVP) I find it very distracting to listen to music. Sometimes when I'm listening to my music I get too relaxed, you know? It also doesn't help that I turn off the sounds in Minecraft if I'm listening to music.

I just que up the jukebox in game, or listen to the regular music of Minecraft. I think any other music would ruin the ambient feel to the game. Once or twice though I have listened to some trance music while playing the game as the in game music will put you to sleep if you are not careful.

Techno get's me PUMPED when I'm in multiplayer mode. I've won so many matches going hardcore to some D&B. I don't always listen to music, but when I do it's usually techno. It just hits me in all the right ways.

I never listen to music when I am playing a game. I am always content with whatever the video game background music has to offer. Minecraft music is the same way to me. It feels more surreal and natural to listen to Minecraft as it is than blast techno or something else. The only game that I absolutely need music with is Eurotruck Simulator II. Then again, that has an option to play radio music, so it's expected.

When I'm building something big like a castle with my friends I listen to 1 Hour Monstercat mixes. The music helps me build stuff better, and It makes Minecraft less boring somehow :/

I, too, suck at multi-tasking and the only time I could truly focus on other music is while doing grindy things. When I used to play Runescape, it was no trouble at all listening to Donkey Kong Country 2 soundtrack. It's pretty much like this: I listen to the ingame soundtrack until I have heard it all enough times and then I mute the music and listen to something from Youtube.

I listen to the Minecraft soundtrack until I got tired of it. Then I played my own playlist. Sometimes, I don't listen to anything. It can be distracting when focusing on redstone builds. When I play Battlefield, I can listen to music all I want, but it's not so easy in games like Minecraft, DayZ, etc. I usually listen to edm, so it also isn't fitting for every game out there too.

I don0t listen to music while I play but since I have a second monitor I do play Let's Play videos on Youtube, sometimes of Minecraft and sometimes of other games.

Sometimes I do, but I usually have it really low because I want to know when monsters are nearby... Nothing is scarier than getting blowup by a creeper you didn't even hear coming.

I like listening to film scores when playing - it works because it makes me feel super powerful when I'm building something haha. It's mellow background music and doesn't distract me with lyrics and such.

I occasionally listen to music whilst playing Minecraft, especially while I do something boring and time-consuming (such as stocking a lot of dispensers with arrows).

Yes I often listen to music even when I'm playing minecraft.
I actually listen constantly to music, so it doesn't really make much matter.

It depends on how long I plan to play. I don't want to start listening to music if I'm only going to be on there for a couple of minutes. I will pull up some music on the computer for long sessions. The game's sounds are great, but not as great as listening to your favorite music while you build!
