Do you play with friends or meet new friends?

When you started playing WoW, did you start off with your friends playing with you? Or did you meet new friends along the way of playing WoW? I have a few friends who were playing before I did so I jumped in and then I met some really cool people afterward. So, have you met any cool people from playing WoW?

Nah I started off playing without any friends, but I met a lot of people from my country in-game and I'm still interacting with them through facebook.

Well my cousin introduced me to the game a while back and I played it with him. But when I told my friends about it, some of them actually played too and I didn't even know so that was a bonus. They were all much better than my since they played a lot longer but they helped me a lot so i'm thankful for that. The community in WoW is actually pretty decent as well. There are the occasional noob haters but so far the experience has been pleasant and I chat with a few regular online friends daily.

I started playing with a friend but he decide to stop playing the game shortly after that so I had to make new friends.
I really don't mind making new friends as long as the people are friendly and are not too serious about the game.

To be honest, both. I always enjoy finding a new friend and I enjoy playing with an already existing one just as much.

I started playing with a small group of real life friends, my husband, and my sister. Eventually we found a guild and I made some really great friendship there that I still have to this day. My old guild master was actually taking a cross country road trip this last summer and stopped by our apartment on the way to stay for an evening and play games. There are great opportunities in social games to make lasting friends, however there is also great opportunity for people to be disrespectful as well. Its just like in your real life, you pick and choose who you are friends with and you avoid the bad.

I primarily play with other people that I know already, though I do meet new people through the guild as well. Most of us are people who have been gaming together for years, though. We get on mumble to do voice chat, and know each other in other places as well.

I started off playing with a friend who introduced me to the game. I wouldn't actually ever play without him.

I started playing because of friends, but have gained a lot of friends in-game as well. It makes the game a ton of fun when you know the person in real life as well. My husband and I have played side-by-side before while in the same room and it was a blast!

I'm usually making new friends in-game. None of my real life friends care about WoW and I don't blame them at this point lol

I was introduced to the game by a couple of friends played it every single class break in school, this was back in 2006. I initially bought the game to play with them as well and level up together in sweet old Azeroth. They eventually stopped playing, but I kept playing with the really nice people I met along the way.

While I don't play at the moment, taking a longer break, I used to start playing with friends, then gradually meet new people, and as my friends started losing interest, I would have an entire crew of in-game friends that would all play together. So I guess both?

Most of my real life friends don't play a lot of games and if they do they mostly play either sports or FPS.

I meet new friends. I play on the PC most of the time and many of my friends, have pretty much moved on. I still enjoy the ones on the PC, therefore online friendships is the way for me. I think it's a great way to socialize once in a while.

I started off playing with my husband and then we met new people the same day we started. We no longer play at the moment, but I am thinking about going back for a little bit. I know everything must be different now though.

Not sure why but I have always been a lone warrior, I tend to stick with myself. I will however join up with a clan and stuff. I hardly ever do dungeons, most of my experiences with them were horrible, either someone else did something wrong and we wiped, or I did something wrong and we wiped. I realize this comes with the territory of the game, but its just made me into being a hermit in the game.

From the alpha up to Cataclysm I was always playing with friends. Sadly after that all of the stopped playing and for quite a while I was playing alone, going through guilds. Few months ago I joined a really awesome guild in which I'll be staying probably for as long as I play WoW. Found some really awesome people who I can definitely call friends and recently a lot of my friends started playing casually waiting for Warlords of Draenor to come out :)

I only started to play this game because my friends kept bugging me about it. Honestly, I would quit if they stopped playing because there would be no one to share and compare my progress with.

I started playing with my friends but, in time, I made lots of new friends from joining guilds or just by questing with people. It was actually kind of nice meeting new people. I had lots of fun with strangers from lots of countries.
