Do you think the time spent to make multiplayer will be worth it?

I think it will take a lot of time to make nice multiplayer maps. If the multiplayer is just plain standard stuff, like death match, could that even be fun for anyone but new gamers? Not that it will be standard, dark level will make for some stealth play at least and who knows what else.

Personally, no I don't think the time spent to make MP will be worth it. Last Light has stayed under the radar so far, but I've never yet seen a modern game which managed to make a visually stunning, lengthy and immersive campaign, and then manage to combine that with a fun long-term playable multiplayer with great maps and game modes. More than likely, one of the two will suffer, and as a fan of the original I'm hoping it's not the singleplayer..

Maybe, I think it'll add some play time and it could be a nice change of pace from the more popular series multiplayer but I doubt it'll have the same staying power as the MP focused series, I've yet to see a game do both at the same level one is always a little less. That being said I don't see it as a waste.

    Aggree.

I'm not really one for MP, unless it's co-op, but with games like Metro I much prefer SP to MP.

What defined Metro is its singleplayer story and by all means it must be the main priority of 4A, co-op in campaign would also be nice as well as survival type of game mode, but nontheless SP should be the main focus :D

Games like COD are getting bland so who knows whatever LL offers will be great. To be honest they need to increase the longevity of the game and either offer campaign dlc and/or some kind of multiplayer. Otherwise players like me will just complete the game and trade it in just like I did with 2033 and the Bioshock games.

Survival/horde/co-op modes are appealing to me.

i agree too, but i think dead space 2 had a decent mix of MP and SP, so maby like a survival mode for MP and stick to spending most of the time on SP.

I know, I just was pointing out that that was not what they wanted to do, to make the game like CoD. Its just that that was something people thought might happen.

Assuming that this interview isn't like those given by Cevat Yerli before Crysis 2 (ie. full of shit), then Last Light definitely looks as though it's heading down the right track. At the very least, the devs seem to know which direction would be better for them to take with regards to platform development and the gameplay itself.

I just hope there is no ranking system/unlocks.

This system has totally destroyed MP games, as all anyone cares about is getting to the top of the board, and unlocking everything.

Also, if there are different modes, then objective type games should not count kills and deaths, it should only count completed objectives/defends.
Too many people go into objective type games and play death match style to pad their KDR.

This is the main reason I have all but quit playing MP, unless its co-op, such as Killingfloor.
