Do you think World of Warcraft will ever have a sequel?

I'm fairly certain Titan is the next evolution for Blizz MMO's. I seriously doubt we will see any other expansions after WoD comes out. My guess is Blizz will invest all their resources into promoting Titan and let WoW fall by the wayside. They'll just have too much invested into Titan to not promote it as the feature game

 

I don't think it'll ever happen. They've already redone Azeroth one time, I can't imagine them doing it again. Granted, I would be really interested to see wow in a new engine, though I think it'd be smarter to just improve what they've got already.

 

It's very unlikely. Blizzard will always provide new expansions for it. Creating a new WoW from scratch would be very tough and probably not that profitable...

 

I hope as long as it's as good as the original Vanilla WoW.​

 

I would be surprised if they didn't make a sequel. WOW is one of the most successful games ever created, would be quite odd to see the developes quit.

 

I would also be surprised if they didn't make a sequel. There's so much lore to draw from, they could absolutely improve the graphics, tighten up the controls and make a huge world that people would fall in love with again and attract a passionate fan base. I'd be extremely surprised if they weren't already developing the next thing after 10 years.

 

They won't. They won't do the same thing again. It's best if they do something new, revolutionary, not evolutionary. It cannot be just WoW 2.0, in a different setting. People get sick of the same thing in MMOs over and over, just re-packaged. So I doubt there will be a sequel. They're not Nintendo, they won't be doing Mario until everyone and their kids have had enough.

 

I don't think there will be a sequel to the game simply because they've made so many expansions to it that it would be pointless to change everything now. I hope that they will make something like World of Starcraft. That would be awesome.

 

To be fair, all the expansions released for it are kind of like sequels in their own right. No point releasing a sequel if all they can do is add some additional maps and classes, or improve some mechanics which is just like expansions.

 

The nest MMO game to come out of Blizzard with be "Titan" Its unknown what it is but they say its something unseen yet. But they scraped the game and started remaking it AFAIK

 

I doubt they'll make a WoW sequel, it's already what, ten years old? Titan may be good, though.

 

I can't see Blizzard ever making a sequel to WoW. It seems that they want to keep updating the original WoW engine in order to keep things as current as possible.

 

I'm sure there will be a sequel. Knowing Blizzard, it will take some time though. There hasn't been a game in the Warcraft line since WoW if I'm not mistaken.

Another reason why we can expect another Blizzard MMO is because its their main money maker/cash cow. You simply cant make that much money on a non subscription fee game!

 

Unfortunately, they put Titan on hiatus and moved the majority of its developers to the development of WoW's next two expansions. That means we won't be seeing Titan for years.

I do not know why they did that. I guess they figured they needed to maintain a certain amount of subscribers for WoW, before making massive commitments to Titan. In other words, they need to have an existing pool of members, so they can promote Titan a lot easier than if they didn't have enough members to promote it to.

 

They will definitely be making more expansion packs for WoW, but I doubt they will make a totally new game. I wish they would make a new Warcraft RTS game though ;_;

 

Blizzard is biding their time. They are probably waiting to see how ESO and EQ Next are received by the MMO community before they even start working on a sequel.

 

I believe they will make a sequel. It is the most successful game of our time. Why would they just leave it? I don't think a sequel would just be a graphic rehash. There would have to be fundamental game-play changes, class re-balancing, and revisiting the lore. All in all I think they will do it, but not anytime soon. Maybe in a decade or so. Just look how long it took them to make SC2!
