Do you trade with villagers?

Most of the time it seems like more of a hassle trying to get a good deal than to just go out and get the items the old fashioned way. Sure if you have some emeralds to get rid of go and get what you can, but hunting for that deal you want seems like a waste of time for me. Is there a way to increase the likelihood of a good deal possibly?

I never trade will villagers because as you said it is a hassle. And I would rather look for the items on my own, and I do not know of any methods to get a better deal, you can try Google if you have not already done so.

Rarely I do but sometimes I end up coming across one that I just can't pass up (Something stupid, like an emerald for 5 chicken.)

No, the trading UI is sluggish and the villagers never have anything that is worth trading. Not to mention, you have to be fortunate enough to spawn near a town.

The only thing a town is good for is food and shelter early on.

I have done so in the past. but like one person said it is a huge hassle because they usually end up ripping you off. If I find a town, I usually kill everyone in it and then turn it into my own establishment. The villagers never have anything worth trading and its always food or something you already have enough of by the time you find a village.

No, they usually want outrageous prices for stuff that you don't really need or can find without too much effort in the real world. I'll only trade with them if they have something crazy rare or something I need really fast and I don't have the time to mine.

Nope. Finding villages is nice to see what they have but 99% of the time I don't trade with them because the trades are ridiculous. I wish mojang changes this up as right now they are kind of useless and dull, interesting only when they become zombies.

I don't really bother with villages, I can never find them anyway, but when I do find them I try to at least look at the different trades they have, although I don't usually trade with them, there's never really anything worth it.

In my feed the beast modpack, yes. They provide plenty of proven frames, which cost only a few emeralds. Proven frames are used in apiarys, which basically breed bees.

On some occasions where I have a lot of spare emerald, then yes. It's always useful to trade a bunch of emerald for lots of bread, in case you are a traveler and you are running really low on food.

I haven't done much trading lately, but I do think that trading is great way to sustain yourself in the game! Lots of villagers can provide you with things like diamond tools / armors. They can make the game a lot easier, but if you want that, then go for it. If not, stay away from them!

No. Not at all. I think it spoils the experience. Most people say, "Why would I go look for diamonds when I can get them for 4 emeralds? I have like a hundred emeralds!" It makes mining and searching obsolete.

No, I'm not a big fan at all when it comes to trading with villagers. It seems cool that some of you use mod packs to increase the value you can get from them, but in vanilla I can never find one who has something I desire. I'm not even sure where to get emeralds, because I have never found or harvested one before. Chicken is not something I would trade for anyways, there are plenty of animals to kill right next to any house you ever build.

I may have traded with them once or twice on rare occasions when I'm wandering around and ran out of food. Mostly i just pretend they don't exist. No really, i choose to not deal with them because i think it wouldn't be fair deal for my part. I mean, they have these items where i can get it myself easily so why bother trading? Nevertheless, they can really be useful in those moments, where desperate times call for desperate measures.

I never trade with villages, i just usually steal stuff from their towns. I find it is too much of a hassle to trade with villagers, it is too hard, and much of a waste of time to find a good deal with a villager, where i could have mined and crafted what i wanted to trade for while I was spending time in the village just trying to get a good deal.

I agree with you on it being too much of a hassle. It's takes way too much time to find the deal you need and get all of the stuff required to make a trade. I only traded a few times just to see how the system worked when it was new. Now I hardly ever trade with villagers anymore.
