Do you like to use modpacks? I have been playing Minecraft vanilla for around 2 years and once I first got a Feed The Beast modpack it completely change the view of Minecraft. It made me realise how to the experienced players, how Minecraft was actually quite boring without mods.

The last mod pack I remembered using was Feed the Beast, or something similar to that. I remember playing the Yogscast pack years ago. Unfortunately, the pack was outdated and I had no idea how to downgrade my Minecraft version. Mod packs are a great addition and most likely better compared to vanilla Minecraft.

I used to play alot of Tekkit. It added so many different new features and it had a super easy installer.

I'm usually playing vanilla, but every so often I go back to tekkit classic, I know it's still on minecraft 1.2.5 and it's pretty old, but it's still a really good modpack that has a lot of tutorials and a lot of lets plays, and there are still a lot of servers for it and people are still developing stuff to work with it. I think it's probably the most successful modpack of all time :3

I haven't, I just use the base version of the game when playing solo. Are there any modpacks that you guys would recommend? I'm quite interested in checking them out. I only got Minecraft not too long ago.

Mod packs make Minecraft way more interesting. Playing Vanilla is only fun for those who have just started, or just enjoy gameplay that isn't added in from anything other than Mojang. I like Feed the Beast, Pixelmon, etc.

Ah that's what it was called, Pixelmon! I guess I do use a modpack then! I'm not tech savvy so I had a friend set it up for me. Pixelmon is fantastic. Pixelmon is probably where I spend the majority of my minecraft time.

The FTB launcher might be good then :3 You just have to open it and there's a big list of modpacks, and if you want one you just have to press download next to the name.

I've never used a mod pack, but if it will enhance my experience then I think I should give it a try. Minecraft has been boring me a little lately and I think a modpack may be a good way to mix things up a bit. Thanks for the post.

Same, I have never used one either. I think I might give Pixelmon a try.

I use modpacks, my favorite modpack of all time was Tekkit Classic, then I played FTB for awhile, I loved being able to make factories and quarries to automate your Minecraft experience. The automation didn't feel overpowered because you had to work at it for hours to get it, so it was basically just the fruits of your hard labor. Recently I have been using Flan's Mod and making maps for it.

I haven't tied any mod packs yet. I've however had a few individuals mods installed. Nothing major because I find that some of them don't work and can be really buggy at times.

I usually just play Vanilla Minecraft, honestly. But when I have used a modpack before, it's always been Attack of the B-team, there are so many mods in that pack, I can't even name them all, but it's really fun, especially when you're playing with other people.

I play Vanilla Minecraft, but occasionally engage in the use of mods simply because of lack of flavor after you run out of objectives to do. I mean, the game is seriously great with a bunch of objectives and adaptations, challenges and such, but at the end of the day, it gets quite boring grinding endlessly. The role of mods is to rekindle the initial interest. They're especially fun when you're playing with friends or online through a server.

Pixelmon was very fun, I had a ton of fun while playing it. I would recommend it to any Pokemon lover.

I usually really like modpacks, but they're always a little difficult to get into, and by the time you're really into the modpack, everyone has moved onto the next one. Every so often, I go back and play tekkit classic a bit, but the newer modpacks feel like they're all headed in a different direction, trying to change minecraft mechanics instead of adding to them.

I agree with SecretlyTaco. Many modpacks try to change the entire game rather than adding something unique that really fits into Minecraft. I don't like having to jump through hoops in new packs just to learn what's been changed or modified. If you give me a simple mod where only minor things have been changed or added, then I'll have more fun because there's less of a guessing game.

I also agree with SecretlyTaco. Most of the mods I use are things like optifine, that improve the game (sometimes quite a lot), but are also compatible with any save file that doesn't have the mod.
