Do you want any multiplayer or co-op elements?

It's a simple enough question. I'd rather keep the game singeplayer like previous elements in the franchise, but there are rumors that a co-op or multiplayer element could be thrown into the mix. What're your thoughts?

No, just no. Fallout should be an individual experience. They shouldn't even waste resources on making co-op or multiplayer elements.
What they should focus on is making a great single-player game, the way Fallout was meant to be played.

Nope. Not at all. I like to do my own exploring alone. Multiplayer games have certain limitations. That's why I loathe them.

I'd only want any co-op features if they could be done well, which they can't. Short of travelling the wasteland in true multiplayer with a friend, there's no feature they can add that wouldn't just detract from the game.

I don't want any co-op or multi-player features, because it simply can't be done well. Bethesda's games are buggy enough without that. If they did that, they would have to redesign the whole game to accept two players, rather than only one. I don't know, but for me, Fallout and The Elder Scrolls are supposed to be played and explored by yourself. I love co-op games and I love multi-player games, but it just won't work good in Fallout.

I would rather not have multiplayer in the game since I enjoy playing a game by myself and after going through the mess that was Elder Scrolls Online, I have a much deeper appreciation for single player games.

I think Fallout is better as a single, almost lonesome experience. I feel like co-op elements would be fun however. I've always wanted to play games like this or Skyrim with my friends. Unfortunately, I believe, based on the way the game's made, it's inherently difficult to incorporate multiplayer elements, unless the game's designed like that from the beginning. Not sure on the credibility of that statement though haha!

It's a post-apocalyptic wasteland, having a server of people would be hell and immersion-breaking, and even co-op with your friend might be fun, but the glitches and bugs could easily break the game. Also remember how in TES:O you had like thousands of "chosen ones"? You really don't want more than one Lone Survivor. Besides that, Bethesda already said they aren't if I'm right, they had it in design but scrapped it.

I really hope there will be no multiplayer options in the game. It just does not work with a game of this scale. Nor would it work with any other Bethesda game. Leave the multiplayer to Battlefield.

I want this game to be single-player, but I wouldn't mind an additional co-op option. I say this because I tend to retreat into my office (cave) for hours at a time and not socialize with my family when I am addicted to a game. If there are co-op options, I can sometimes bring my family in to play with me. I would just want to acquire items or money that I could then bring back to my single-player experience.

I'd like a two-player online co-op option only. Anything more than that, and I'm not going to like it.

Maybe 2 player co-op would work, but I could not imagine even that. It would require two vault dwellers doing their thing at the same time, which would take away from the immersion.

It would been interesting, if they did it how GTA:V was done. Like, you can play the main game is single player, but they make an multi-player world too.

I think multiplayer will be something that's going to need extensive work if they want to implement it in Fallout 4. I think this game is going to be more fun and exciting to play in singleplayer.

That would be an interesting concept to try out, but I think I would only go for it if we're allowed to invite people that we want into our game and not have it so that anyone can just drop in like trolls and people that just want to mess up your progress. It would suck if you were trying to sneak past a group of Deathclaws or Super Mutants to retrieve a quest item because you have a stealth character and just as you grab it and making your escape, an idiot runs in guns blazing while shouting their full name and causing the both of you to die a horrible death.

I do agree with this. I think that a lot of effort would have to go into ensuring that the multiplayer experience is enjoyable for all parties and isn't just a breeding ground for trolls. I do think the multiplayer aspect could be interesting but I feel that it should only be allowed after the solo storyline has been finished. Like after you run through the game one time by yourself, only then can you have the online multiplayer option. Local multiplayer is a little different for me and I think that should be allowed.

With a game like Fallout, they can't make it work without heavy changes to the whole formula.

They could make a seperate objective based multiplayer game-mode on small maps, but what's the point if there will be games that already do that, and do it better?

Also, there is a reason Fallout 3's protagontist is called The Lone Wanderer...

Nah. Bethesda can roll the dice with Fallout Online in a few years, but I think that FO4 (especially with the new building/crafting mechanic) would very quickly deteriorate into a AAA Day-Z if multiplayer elements were introduced. And I personally don't consider that a good thing.

Why should it be? Fallout Tactics had a multiplayer mode that was really fun. Sure, the mechanics in this game were very different from the usual Fallout titles, but my point is that online play isn't really something that was always absent in this franchise.

FOnline, which is a fan-made mmorpg, is also considered very good.

    I'm for it.

That I can work with, but I still want the option to pick and choose who I want running around in my game world, especially Local multiplayer. I know enough idiots in my area to know that they are the LAST people I want running around with me. Limiting the amount of people that can join (like up to two) would be a good idea to consider as well.
