You hit the nail on the head at every point, in my opinion. One of my favorite things about the game is that you can say one little thing and it'll have irrevocable consequences that change the entire outcome of the story.

As Mimsee said, you pretty much nailed it with your review. Also, the Dragon Age subreddit and this forum are the "widest" audiences you will probably hear from.

By the way, I agree it's a time sink, but then again time doing what you like is time well-spent, so get to it!

I really like the replay value. No two stories are the same, every decision you make matters in the game. There is a wide variety of story lines and characters. Many RPG's give the illusion of choice, and every story ends up being relatively the same with a few different endings, but Dragon Age actually feels like your choices affect the story. It is a game you can play over and over again.

As someone who played the console version first, I prefer the pc version. Especially since the battles allow for a more tactical approach, which is hindered by the controls of the console version. And thanks to mods, a few annoying features can be disabled, like needing a thief if you ever want to open locked chests. Not to mention that you can improve upon the game in other aspects.

I like the PC and console versions equally. They each come with their own benefits and disadvantages. Sometimes I prefer playing on a console, and other times I prefer taking advantage of mods on PC.

I played both console and PC version, but I preffer PC version over the console one. This can be a bit bias, because I played the game on my PC a lot more than I play it on my friend's console. I have the same likes and dislikes as the OP and there is really nothing to add there. I haven't played any game until I played this one that what you say would have such a big impact on the story. I really like the aspect of this, because I think it makes every player feel like the game was made for him, it doesn't feel that you just play the same game as your friends there, you make your own game story.

In my opinion the graphics are quite good and the game play experience is overall really good. I am in the same line as the original poster and have the same likes and dislikes although I don't play it anymore so much since I have picked some new games to play.

Who said it taking up your free time is a bad thing? ;) Welcome to the fandom. You're here FOREVER!

I like this game alot, especially the story line. It's very interesting. Although Origins and Awakenings are sort of the same. Both have protagonists who are troubled by darkspawn but the thing that ruined them first were the people who are close to them.

I agree of what you said. The game has good story and of course your choices. And it also take my free time too.

I found the Pc version took time to get used to with the controls, and also glitches did happen and sometimes when fighting enemies the game stops or fight is paused. I found when I used Morrigorn daze spell on a enemy, the red dot would show on map and would have to restart again and battle again as the game would glitch. The Pc version has army of the dead warriors help you against archdemon when health is down and they are good distraction when the dragon is distracted by them and you can fight him from other side.

I think the PC version was a bit rushed, but playable nonetheless. The "hold down left mouse to keep attacking" thing was quite annoying, but I got used to it after a few hours. The menu and inventory are atrocious.

I remember while I was playing at Dragon Age 1 and it was pretty awesome. Of course there were some bugs (yeah, especially with Morrigan and some choices) but it did not ruin my fun at this game. I'm thinking that maybe I will read the book (first Dragon Age book released by David Gaider) and then play Dragon Age I, II and MAYBE Inquisition, but I don't believe I will buy a new computer these days, uh. Anyway I can tell only good things about this game.
