Dual-wielding?

    So, in the next update, Minecraft will give players the ability to dual-wield. So, you can be mining and place torches at the same time. Or, you can be fighting and eating food at the same time. What do you think of this update?

    That would be such an awesome update! It reminds me of old FPS games like Timesplitters, except quite a bit more efficient this time around because of how resourceful one can be with the feature. :D

    I find it useful since I can now charge into battle and heal after each swing at the enemy. Or maybe I can dual wield picks and mine even faster than before!

    I'm not really sure how I feel about this. In real life you can't do something like this, of course they don't need to respect reality. I feel like Minecraft is starting to move too fast, hopefully they don't get overwhelmed by all those ideas.

    It's not progressing that much, I work in a game development studio as a programmer and trust me the deadlines we have to meet to implement huge features is incredibly short. And we're not funded by Microsoft so they've got that going for them.

    As for the dual wielding I think it's a good addition, after all it makes sense. You can dual wield in real life, after all you have two hands. I'd be interesting to see if they limit it though, would they make it more realistic and limit what you could carry? Anything is possible.

    Well, of course you have two hands but I was talking about mining and placing torches at the same time aspect. I don't really see how that's feasible.
